Originally from New York, Rabbi Chaim Willis earned a bachelor’s degree, then journeyed to Afghanistan, Vietnam and Cambodia. But it was in Jerusalem that Rabbi Willis found the answers to his questions. He studied at Aish for four years under the guidance of Rabbi Noah Weinberg, before founding the first Aish branch outside of Israel in his wife Shelley's hometown of St. Louis. In 1998, the Willis family moved to Johannesburg to expand the Aish branch. The Willises have 10 children, some of whom live around the globe.
