YAAKOV SALOMON'S NEW BOOK, SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Some people are funny. Some are insightful. Some are cynical. Some find a humorous touch in everything. Others find irony. Some write beautifully. Few people do them all as well as Rabbi Yaakov Salomon does. Entertaining, inspiring, astute, he has the uncommon ability to look something to give us pause and make us think. His new book, Something to Think About , gives us just that -- with a healthy dose of wit and charm. Click here to order.

Sources for the water source issue

Caring about health - and honesty - is a special thing, As we see from the Torah. Vinishmartem... Also see RMB"M Perek 4 of Hilchos De'os. Also see Kitzur Shulchan Aruch Siman 32 and around it for some very interesting sources - and amazing health topics you may not find anywhere else!
To find out about sources for this topic: A) Do a search for the words Pepsi public water source and you can click on the first site (but don't click ion the ad which is for Aquafina - advertised as Purified Bottled Water That You Can Trust - Stay Informed - do something about those last words! Anyway, here you'll find an article about Pepsi agreeing to write these words on their bottles.
Also, another great source of health info is from a Dr. Joseph Mercola on his site by the last name dot com. There is available much health information. And you can do a search for the words Pepsi's "Aquafina" Bottled Water, is Tap Water and you will find a whole article on it. He recently wrote a book called 'Take Control of Your Health', and in there he writes many points about it:
- What was mentioned in a comment here - that fluoride is not healthy. And as he writes that; 'it is being prescribed to the entire US and in other countries without their consent!'
- Also, other no-good chemicals have been found - because the plastic leaches chemicals.
- Also, it is an environmental issue both in manufacture, shipping and disposal of all the plastic
- He recommends best a good filter that will filter out chlorine and fluoride; a reverse osmosis filter. (He explains in the book why he does not recommend distilled water.)
- Also, for showering, it is good to have a filter; unless one has a whole house filter, because, as he writes that, as surprising as it may sound, one may actually absorb more chlorine from showering than drinking! And there is much more health advice in his book, which is available through his site.
The Torah cares much about ones health, - that it should be a help for a person to do Mitzvos! I was thinking that, while for example, IBM had a great part in the Holocaust as is detailed on a site ibmandtheholocaust , perhaps, by using such devices for Mitzvos the Will of The Creator, we are accomplishing the greatest feat - and revenge. All in all be healthy for many, many years BS"D!! Please add your comments!

Now we have to know what PWS it's coming from. If it's from NY does it also have to be filtered for bugs?

But Tap Water is Toxic!

Tap water contains flouride which is many times more toxic then lead! Small amounts of fluoride are beneficial for our teeth, but the amounts put into tap water are actually bad for our teeth. What with world pollution these days there are also other toxins and pollutants in our water. I rarely buy tap water myself, but I do filter my tap water. As long as the company filters and purifies the water I have no problem with its origin. So the bottled water companies have come clean have they? Well, this is the first I have heard about it! All we have is Rav Salomon's say so on this, where is the evidence? I want to hear from the companies themselves, if they really have come clean. What about the letters the rabbi claims are on the bottom of the bottle "PWS". I've just checked a few old water bottles I have and I don't find these letters anywhere on the bottle! As long as the water I drink comes out clean that's all I care about. It's about time our governments cleaned up our water supply and stop adding toxic fluoride to something which originally was sent down clean from Hashem.
I'd like to know where the rabbi got his information from.
