Althought the stories of the women were lost, these stories are just as important as the stories of the jewish men; if not braver.

I wonder how she got to the enemy general's tent without being captured or questioned by the enemy soliders. How was she let into the tent and where were the soliders when she came.

She dressed as a traveling merchant woman, as if she had wares in her basket, and told the soldiers that she had a gift for their general. And, in fact, she did not bear any weapons, so why should they have been suspicious. We just live in such a parnoid society now, but doesn't necessarily mean they were then...

the Greeks had instituted the 'prima nocta'

that's when the jewish women were taken by the enemy on the first night of their wedding! who else would have been virgin in those days! not the greeks, for sure!

. Thank You Lori. This is a powerfully enlightening message. What a perfect time to hear it in this Holiday of Lights. Women certainly can get the job done. Think of the many lives that would have been lost if armies had gone into battle for that head. .
