Jewish Person of the Year

I am of the opinion that a person of the year should considered based on among other things his or her extra contribution toward the progress and existence of Israel as a nation. Having said that I think a politician such as Netanyahu (no disrespect to him) is simply doing what he is obligated to do as the country's CEO. I will thus give my vote to all true Israelites (not politicians) who strive to see to it that the Most High’s promises and commissions to Israel are being observed and my second vote will go to men and women of faith globally (myself included) who keenly and relentlessly fight and stand by Israel against all kinds of vilification, dishonest reporting in their own countries. Bringing awareness about the other side of the coin about Israel to the misinformed people who are being brainwashed by the Arab, Foreign media and compromised politicians have become a daily task to some of us.

For his constant work to defend the Jewish people, Israel, and it's right to exist.

Man of the year? Klall Yisroel! I learned that we are collectively Man. There are the eyes of the nation - the wise sages of each generation. There are those that act and work on our behalf - the hands so to speak (I believe they are called askanim ). Mr. Wolfson was niftar earlier this calendar year and in my opinion He was not just this years person of the year but the person of the year every year since he came to this country. I am only basing this on what this Holy Man has done for Yiddishkeit single handedly. May His Memory Be For A Blessing!

Rabbi Sacks has been a true diplomat for both Judaism and the Jewish People. He writes and speaks for ALL Jews, not just those of a particular level of observance or minhag or political view. I have seen many votes for Netanyahu and, while his policies may or may not be good for Israel, he certainly makes no effort to put Israel or Jews in a positive light to the other nations. Rabbi Sacks has emerged, not just as a leader for 2012, but for this generation!

Rabbi Elyashiv ZT''L (passed away a few months ago) was definitely one of the greatest influences in our generation in the Torah Orthodox communities. He used his long life as a sterling example of constant Torah study coupled with community responsibility as a Posek of the highest order. He was honored and respected among all types of Jews -- whether it was the Yeshiva people, or even the secular groups. They all knew here was a man that lived the life of holiness.

Benjamin Netanyahu schould be voted most important person of the year for caring about the Jewish people and protecting them in their homeland and allowing them to prosper and develop even while terrorists are trying to kill them.

I very much respect your opinion, however I don't believe the Prime Minister reflects the opinions and/or values of the NEW Jew or the new world order. Israel and it's leadership must accept the region for what it is and Israel's place among the Arab countries. It no longer has the military power to simply swat away it's enemies like flies at a Bar BQ, and finally must reassess what changes are acceptable to secure it's long-term future. Unfortunately, Netanyahu has never had the necessary vision to look at the world map as a puzzle as see where Israel fits. It is his biggest weakness.

So, it's Netanyahu that stands in the way of peace? And what of Hamas relentlessly firing rockets at cities in Israel for sport? Looks like someone's been reading a little too much of the New York Times.

Binyamin Netanyahu should be living Jewish person of 2012. He has powerfully and gracefully stood up for Israel against the entire world which continually tries to take steps, large or small, for political, religious or economic reasons, to undermine or destroy it. He always stands and speaks with poise, intelligence and a backbone of steel. He also selects people in the government who represent and defend Israel eloquently and profoundly to the world.
