When you hug someone, your chest and two arms form three "walls" around them. A Sukka needs a minimum of three walls because, as you say, it's a hug from Hashem. (As taught by Rabbi Shimshon Pincus, nephew of Rabbi Noah Weinberg)

HaShem's Heart

Dear Lori, I think that this is the most tender, beautiful "Almost Live" you have ever done. Thank you so much for that, it really touched my heart. The Sukkah seems, to me to be the chamber of HaShem's Heart opened just enough for us to enter and bask in His warmth and love. May you be there always. xoxo

Thank God for your beautiful message about Sukkos and its relevance to us as children of God ;sometimes we need to know and remind ourselves that in the midst of challenges and almost hopeless situation we are facing that God is aware and understanding and ready to help us through to victory

Thank you for The Hug

Thank you. I also love Sukkot. It wasn't always that way. It was only after I really understood the teshuvah process that I came to see it as The Hug from Hashem. Now I cry when I say farewell to the Sukkah, I don't want to leave His embrace!

Lori, thank you so much for explaining the Succah in this way. You are right. Especially after the last holidays we need Hashems hug. It is as if a mother bows down to her child, that has still tears in its eyes. - Wonderful explanation.

Perpetual hug

Perhaps we are ALWAYS cradled closely in the Loving arms of our Creator but we don't feel and/or appreciate it. A doctor said that there at least one million things that can go wrong with the body every day. Only His cradling arms every second of every day could protect us. Maybe the Succah is more than a hug. Maybe it's a vehicle for enabling us to stop and actually feel His arms tightly around us just as the way they are every day, every moment.

Sukkot

Not for nothing is Sukkot called "HeChag" THE holiday. Maybe because it has such tangible accoutrements, the sukkah with its fruits and the arba'a minim. It has always been my favourite chag too but nowhere in the Galut can one experience the joy of Sukkot as here in Eretz Yisrael. The weather is still warm enough to eat and even sleep in the sukkah. Thank you for your continued inspiration. Am Yisrael Chai!

the big hug

That video it my heart. For years I have built my succa at home. My daughter and my Gran daughters have help the thought of Hashem giving a hug brings joy into this. Thank you. B'H.

Sukkah: A Hug From G-d

Yes Lori, thank you. Also, it's to remember the time in the Sinai. That we should be thankful, and not complain. Find the blessing, not the fault. Be patient and be aware that we're all on this journey of life and are at different points from each other in that journey. Receive HaShem's hug and hug each other, even if only with patience and compassion.
