My take away from Hurricane Sandy is that one's circumstances can change on a dime. I also learned to appreciate my blessings, of which there are many.

The messages to me are: 1. There is a message. G-d speaks to us - as individuals and as a community. 2. We have much to be grateful for. The first test to Man was to his ability be grateful. The final test before Moshiach comes may be the same. The rains and the winds are needed and must be appreciated. There strength cannot however be underestimated. 3. I don't do enough chesed. There are so many opportunities all around us. 4. We don't know the difference between what we need and and what we want. 5. I am too small and insignificant to understand the full lesson so I must ask our leaders for guidance.

Don't Forsake the Poor!

Sandy - Big Deal - 16,000 children die each day from the failed economic system we have created. Americans consumed 30% of the world resources and make up less than 5% of the world popultation. Jews and Christians are both guilty of the sins of colonialism and captialism. So Sandy Big Deal, A big Deal should be the 1000's of children that died TODAY - from Famine.
