I Agree

I agree. The new idols (money, possessions, celeb. worship) replace spirituality and offer a nicer lifestyle. Education and the professions of medicine, law, finance, provide a high end lifestyle. The lifestyle is the idol.

why reinvent the wheel? something to think about

why there is a need to re-invent the wheel? worship idols is the most horrible thing we can do. worship of idols is not a search for anything, but rather ignorance especially nowadays when we have a huge and easy access to knowledge. this is the main reason for intermarriage (which is threatening our very survival), this is the main reason for treason (which is unfortunately happening), this is the main cause of our problems.
something to think about - for sure. it is my honest opinion that you have missed the point on this one, but majority of your videos are great.

What is worship?

Idols or no idles; what is worship? Is it going to Synagogue, or Church or Temple and do whatever that institution allows? Doing it in a very outstanding way and spending lot of money over it is worshiping? Or do something to save what G'd have created? Are we suppose to "fear" the G'd or we should "love" the G'd? Trust in G'd or no G'd is not a question here. "What we do" is under scrutiny. "One line prayer" is sufficient? Or we must sit and spend hours in the end?

I would agree with #1

People don't worship idols today because it's so crystal clear that it IS idol worship. No, today, we are much more sophisticated. Today, we have a much more subtle form of idol worship and that is worshiping ourselves. People will daly with Judaism as long as it's not too bothersome, fits into their schedules, makes them feel "spiritual" etc. G_d forbid, that they have to deny themselves anything (like that dinner at their favorite non-Kosher restaruant). There is also the "classic" idol of money worship. Yes, the persuit and aquisition of wealth is the most important thing in far too many people's lives. How much pride is wrapped up in this is anyone's guess!

The din of modern life

It never fails to amaze me how people proudly announce they're available to their jobs "24/7". G-d is right where He's always been, but if you never take off your headphones nor look up from your I-phone, it's easy to miss His presence.
