Shalom Yeladim (children) Chanukah is here "Hurray" Come children let's sing about the nissim (miracles) We'll sing about a jug so small It happened in the days of the Maccabees Around my Daddy we all stand Around my Daddy we all stand From far Yevanim came, they came with so much might Round and round our Dreidels spin We'll sing of how we light We'll sing of how we light In the night our candles glow In the night our candles glow "RRRING" Hello. Fire Chief Bauer speaking. Hello. You know it's almost Chanukah, and soon we'll be lighting our candles! I thought it was a good time to tell the children about the dangers of fire. Do you have any suggestions for me? Well, Rabbi Alter, I'm so glad you called! First of all, please tell the children to be extra careful how they light the candles. And most of all, they shouldn't even go near any fire without adult supervision! Thank you, Fire Chief, and keep up the good work. Thanks for calling, and have a nice holiday.
Chorus I: Aish is fire and fire is hot Fire can run and fire can spread Chorus II: Aish is fire and fire is hot There's soup in a pot on the stove and it's hot Chorus III: Aish is fire and fire is hot Shabbos candles, Chanukah lights Chorus IV: Aish is fire and fire is hot If you burn yourself, poor little one Chorus V: Aish is fire and fire is hot Chorus II Chorus V by: Rebbe Alter
It's Chanukah at last You don't have to raise your hand When do we light? Can anybody say? When do others light? Come, let me hear you say What do we light? Who can answer that? Where do we light? Who can say for sure? And in Eretz Yisroel many people light outside And how many candles are we supposed to light Each time, which is the first candle that we light? By the Menorah's eight lights may I write with my pen? The reason that we light these candles you know And the name of the flame And what brochos (blessings) do we say? And on the first night How much time must they be lit Two times a year we say a special tefilla (prayer) Well, we sang Yeladim (children) Yes, we sang, chaverim (friends) Hi everyone and welcome. Well, Chanukah is finally here. Let's begin by closing our eyes and imagining that we are living in the time of the Temple. Wow! Here it is. What a beautiful building. Gold and silver and precious jewels are all around. And children, still with our eyes closed tightly, we see the kohanim - the priests - in their special clothing, doing their holy tasks with so much love and care. A kohein is lighting the golden beautiful Menorah - candelabra. The wicks are glowing in their cups filled with pure olive oil. How beautiful it was. If only we could once again see this magnificent sight. One time when the Temple was standing, do you know what happened, children? Come, let's slowly open our eyes and talk about it softly...
In the Beis Hamikdash long ago Then once the wicked Yevanim came Just then someone cried out "I found a flask!" Just then someone cried out "I found a flask!" by: Rebbe Alter
