Thanks, I needed that!
Ay 68, with most of my life and carer behind me, I sometimes feel disappointment at all I failed to achieve.
But I'm blessed with good health, material comfort, a loving wife and two sons who are smarter and more successful than I am. I'm thankful every day for my life and so many other blessings.
I've tried to do what's right and think I've helped more people than I've hurt. Was I the best person I possibly could be? No, I'm sure I was not. But I tried, and the rabbi seems to say one gets credit for the effort.

Today in Tanya we read exactly that!!!
Today is the 200th yorzeit of the Baal Hatanya. In the Tanya for to day according to the learning cycle the alter Rebbe(Baal Hatanya ] mentions the person who is Oved Elokim-not born with the greatest talents but puts effort into everything he does .That is commendable not that one who was the top of his class without effort

A Successful video !
So much of what was said is a part of my mottos for life. I truly connected to the talk. One of my mantras is "be the best you" and I think the Rabbi ended with a very similar phrase. I even like his name :-)

great encouragement to me this day
As a painter, I have struggled with portraying what I believe I am to share, feeling inadequate and judged by anothers view of beauty. This little video encouraged me to just do my best ....and enjoy it!

finding meaning in life
It may not be a matter of what one owns or does, but to find meaning in one's life that matters most. Not everyone does things, even if it's good, cheerfully....Also as for smiles, the most condescending ones are of that of missionaries attempting to convert us Jews and others to their way of thinking either with a pamphlet or an attempt to engage in conversation with their own version of G-d.
