A Greek friend form Greece
I´m a Greek form Greece and I don´t hate you! There are many here who think like me. Please do not generalize the headline from this Yellow journalism. Such headlines are bad. I'm fighting against such statements. A friend from Greece.

Concern and Respect
It gets me upset and angry when I read that some of my observant Jews speak so disrespectfully of other Jews . Jews who are liberal are being painted with a broad brush dipped in hatered. Why be so hateful of our own brotheres and sisters? Liberals, I believe are obeying God's whishes. After all, the Liberal's main cause is to help otheres who are in need. Liberal is a good word with good meaning. As for secular Jews, of which I am one, my faithfullness and love for Israel and the History of our people is of utmost importance to me. Stop the splitting please and let us honor eachother instead of throwing stones. The stones are all around us and all Jews most often are often victimized. Let us not do it to ourselves. As you mentioned, Rabbi, the picture painted about our President elect, by the Greek Newspaper is incorrect.Let us not take the bait and hook ourselves.

God bless people like Trevor Wilson and Deborah. Greece has always been extremely anti-Semitic. About ten years ago or fifteen, an Israeli team was playing in Athens, there were constant jeers and shouts of "Jews to the gas chamber." And, obviously, 75% of American Jews are not very well informed, or maybe not so bright, or maybe they just don't care about Israel. Very disheartening.

Liberals and Muslims
They are one in the same.Liberals throughout the free world basically are the dominant factor as owners of the press.Their love of secularism makes them hate Jews. This is why they are so apt to defend bad behavior by Muslims, even though they are religious. The hate for Judaism trumps all.The Jew hatred blinds some people like Hitler who saw it more important to kill the Jews than to divert resourses to germans when the allies were on the move against them.

No, not all hate
Please, don't lump everyone with the haters. I am a Christian and I LOVE the Jewish people. I support Aish and a number of other Jewish endeavors and no, I do not have an ulterior motive, I simply know that if I bless Jewish people I will be blessed. If, God forbid, this nation became like Germany, I'd risk my life to save Jewish people.

Not an isloated case
Unfortunately, there is a rising trend to anti-semitism throughout Europe. I for one am not really surprised by this audacious headline in Greece. France, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Italy, the list is long and growing of countries which are displaying an alarming hatred toward Jews and things Jewish. As for me, I will stand as a friend to Israel and Jews worldwide.

sorry...I agree
Rabbi Salomon...forgive me you missed the point. While 75% of Jews may have voted for Obama, he was very clear that he plans on changing America's foreign policy vis a vis Israel and other countries, hoping to make USA enemies our allies, and perhaps not allying the USA with her regular allies. That the Greek newspaper picked up on that, actually makes them ,more perceptive than 75% of American Jews. Of course, time will tell.

What Should We Do??
As American Jews, do we watch and wait for such time that it would be advisable for us all to make aliyah? Just like "Aliyah" commented, the German Jews were taken by surprise. Yet there were rumblings that they chose to ignore until it was too late. Let us pray that we will all be safe!

Greek trash
Jewish domination? Did the Greeks never get over the Maccabees kicking their butts, or what? Whoever wrote that article should be condemned. That headline would never happen in the USA, so maybe Greece needs to look at itself before it preaches to USA.

From an Irish/Italian/Catholic American...I have seen anti-semetisim on several occasions and I say something every time. If non-Jews would have stood up against the nazis maybe the Holocost wouldn't have happened. True Christians should stand up to anti-semites and make themselves heard. After all we came from the Jewish people.

Big surprise...they ALL do not hate!
There are also good people in the world that, yes, actually DO NOT hate Jews. This video does nothing to educate people to change, all it does is to tell you "who your friends are NOT" as he sais. For me this is a sad lesson of "who to hate" and does not promote peace. What we need are ACTIVISTS that have strong beliefs and ARE ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING to make a difference! So are you one of them? am I ? are any of the everyday, ordinary Joes in Greece or anywhere else?? most of us are not activists. Could you or I have stopped Hitler?? NO, sadly Evil will always prevail no matter what, when evil exists. Lets start by erasing racism in our home, our backyards, our schools...all else will follow from there, Global politics and trashy newspaper articles will always exist in Greece and everywhere else. The importance is not to teach Jews that no one cares, but to teach non-Jews that articles like these should not be tolerated. And like I said, this begins at home.

Not everybody hates the Jews...
Shalom! Even Im a mexican, is an honor for me to greeting with this word because it meant really peace to me. I want to tell Allan and to every Jew int he world, that not everybody hate them. I beleive that there is a big group of people that really love the Jews and will be standing for them...Im a Christian and the congregation I attended love the People of the Book: the Jews. And we know that the Almighty G-d is with you and He will bring peace to every Jew in the world. We stand for you, even knowing that is hard for a Jew to beleieve in some Christian true love. Time is coming soon when the whole world will recognize the highest place that all Jews have in this earth. Sincerely, Laura Tienda

not surprised
We, the Jewish people, should be more surprised when we receive favorable comments. No illusions, just remember that "Yisroel Batach B'HaShem." R'Elchonan Wasserman Ztz'l said that when our enemies seem powerful, don't try to fight them, but take refuge under the wings of Torah. When we remember who we are, then HaShem will help us openly, but all is from Him, "...the Creator of Heaven & Earth." This message from Greece and the winning of the USA election by a person with real anti-semetic views will hopefully be a message to the members of our people who have illusions. Hopefully this will promote more tshuvah.

Allan -- Don't generalize to Greek Diners in Florida
Oy vey Allen. The issue is that we are Anti-Semetic, which means generalizing bad things to all Jews. What do you do? Because of a newspaper in Greece you suggest not patronizing Greek Diners. The owners of those diners may have come to the U.S. 50 years ago to escape the opinions and government of Greece. Many of them up north sponsor and donate food fo Jewish events and programs. Allen don't generalize. Rather get a copy of the article and show it to a diner owner and ask them the protest. That would have more impact than skipping an occasional Greek Salad.

Whose opinion matters?
What the world thinks of you and what the world says about you, is a secondary issue. What matters is what God thinks of you and what he says to you. Nobody touchs God's people without his knowledge or against his will. Let the nations rage, God holds you in his hands, if you walk with him.

So Now We Know Where Our Enemies Lie!
This is no surprise at all! As Jews, have we not enemies all over the world, in each country there is racism and anti-semitism. Unfortunately, in a way, its good when it comes to light, it keeps us on our toes to better protect ourselves when we are aware who is who and where. Now we know that Greece too is among those frustrated people in the world. There is and will always be unsatisfied people taking their frustration on someone and it seems that the Jews are the perfect preys! Let us not forget!

What about the US
Some have said that anti-Jewish feelings and groups are increasing in the U.S. Is this true and are we going to continue to be safe here? It took Germans by surprise. They didn't believe their countrymen wood be capable of any of the things they did, even just being quliet while millions died.

Big suprise ..they all hate us!
This Greek paper''s comments should be no shock to any of us Jews. It must be the obligation of the Goyim and all other Jew hater''s to do these things from time to time. Here in the north east and southern Florida the non religious Jews make up a good portion of the customer base for Greek diner owners. I for one patronize some but under the false smiles I can detect the roots of anti-semetisim. Yet they and all other Chistian denominations all get to church on Sunday mornings and worship the life/times and death of a Jew....still baffles me beyond my ability to understand how they love JC and many times hate the rest of us.
The best punishment is to stop giving them our business whether here in the USA *or* for sure not traveling to their homeland. -

Awful
It is awful to hear about this headline. However living in europe this is the first time I hear about this. What is the name of the newspaper, you didn't mention it. how does the greek jewish community react? you didn't speak about that either.

We had control over America? Why didn't anyone tell me?! I'm Jewish... it would have been really nice to dominate a superpower for a little bit. (satire)

There's no outrage because many people don't care about us, except for a small number. But then again, we don't need them. We Jews have each other. That's what matters. May we be redeemed soon

Hope for change
I am glad that others in the world are seeing the true colours of the greek government. The minorities in greece have been suffering for decades, even on stole land. Today in the 21st century they are using force, military threat, prision even a death sentance. Please wake up and let all help each other. This is not a good sight on European land, we all know what happened not long ago. Let's put a stop to it before it starts. Let's all work together to help the jewish peopl and the macedonians in Greece. The people need our help. God bless Israel and it's people also Macedonia and it's people.

The surprise for the Greeks
Just wondering what the Greek papers will say when they read that Obama's top advisors are Jewish
-
(7) Beverly Kurtin , November 6, 2008
May they grow like a raddish...
So who did Obama make his chief of staff? A Jew. Let the Greeks choke on their lies. Of course, they are not the only ones who hate us. Here in Texas, some newspapers did not even bother to announce that Obama won the election. Needless and causeless hatred is alive and well in the United States of America. It's disgusting. The Terrell, Texas newspaper is only one of the many papers who hate anyone who isn't them. The KKK is alive and well.

editors?
Where were the editors for this Greek newspaper? Shouldn't they have known better than to allow such misinformation about "worldwide Jewish control"?...It is certainly true that a majority of Jews voted for Obama, and it is disheartening when the far right and/or the far left make such attacks such as the claim that Obama is a Palestinian sympathizer, when in fact, he has insisted that he is another friend to Israel, who will pursue "aggressive diplomacy" with Hamas and especially the Iranian threat...I will soon send a contribution to the Anti-Defamation League for Obama's security as the first African-American president-elect, and to the World Jewish Congress to help push for tougher sanctions against the Iranian president.

why are u so shocked? Are u expecting that in our day and age goim are going to like us any better then in time of Chanuka? They are not meant to like us. WHen they like us we fall. The article is not saying new things.

When are we going to stop victimizing ourselves? Get over it. Some people in Greece hate us. Are you surprised? When Obama implements the Nuremberg laws, i'll start worrying.

I Had No Idea
I would not have heard about this had I not come to Aish today. Which makes me believe that very few others outside of Greece know. This means that it would be unfair to judge the rest of the world for not being outraged, as it is unlikely that many of them even know this happened. While I am adding this to my Facebook page and e-mailing some people, the overall effect is not likely to be far-reaching. However, I do agree that the true tragedy is the fact that this newspaper so carelessly tossed these accusations about.

To Our Advantage
While I agree that such headlines are hurtful and of course untrue (no such control by Jews existing), the fact that our enemies think we are "defeated" might be to our advantage. Now is the time for us to "hit" the world media with large yet subtle doses of reality.

The Greeks got it wrong (again)
Take a look at Obama's cabinet of ministers, they're nearly all Jewish. This Greek journalist doesn't know what s/he's writing about. As Devorah wrote, what other People has continued to rise to greatness despite the world's contempt, but we Jews? It is because of HaShem's Divine Hand - we couldn't do it without G-d's omnipotent love.
(35) Ulli , December 16, 2008
This happens daily and not only in Greece
Yes this headline and article is anti-semitic and came from a sick twisted mind. But this happens daily all over Europe. I can tell because I live there.
(34) Devorah , November 16, 2008
It's all been said before, nu?
As a Jew, nothing surprises me. The world has not learned a blessed thing from the Holocaust. As a Jew, I know i am always an oven door away from being cremated. I don't say everyone hates the Jews, but when push comes to shove, get rid of the Jew is the call to arms. We dominate the world? I would laugh but it sickens me to here this garbage time and time again. Why don't the Muslim Arabs build schools, hospitals, and other community needs instead of blaming everyone and the Jew instead of blowing up, fomenting hate and stealing from their own. Jealously my friends, they just are jealous of a people that no matter what has risen to greatness. Devorah

Liberal = anti-Torah
David, on liberals & Muslims is correct. The new left has no space for Jews, Israel to them is an agressor, & the way to deal w/islamic terrorists is to appease & give in to their demands. A very strong effort by the US military is the only language they understand.
