I'm Greek and Jewish

Dear Rabbi Salomon, Can you believe I am Greek and Jewish? My parents are both survivors of Salonika in Greece during WWII. This is a topic many people in the U.S. and around the world may not even know exists: that we Greek/Jewish Americans exist. It is hard for me to believe that antisemitism is so strong in Greece; after all, it was Christian Greeks who urged my mother to escape to the mountains to survive. Rabbi, I want you to know that there are many of us out here, children of survivors of Greece who love both Greece and our Jewish heritage. Greece during WWII suffered so horribly, and everyone suffered together as a group. I know the Greek people, overall, are good and kind and for the most part, love the Jewish people. I am having difficulty wrapping it around my head that most Greeks feel this way. I hope it is not true, because my family is part of the Greek heritage as well.

The Greeks got it wrong (again)

Take a look at Obama's cabinet of ministers, they're nearly all Jewish. This Greek journalist doesn't know what s/he's writing about. As Devorah wrote, what other People has continued to rise to greatness despite the world's contempt, but we Jews? It is because of HaShem's Divine Hand - we couldn't do it without G-d's omnipotent love.

This happens daily and not only in Greece

Yes this headline and article is anti-semitic and came from a sick twisted mind. But this happens daily all over Europe. I can tell because I live there.

It's all been said before, nu?

As a Jew, nothing surprises me. The world has not learned a blessed thing from the Holocaust. As a Jew, I know i am always an oven door away from being cremated. I don't say everyone hates the Jews, but when push comes to shove, get rid of the Jew is the call to arms. We dominate the world? I would laugh but it sickens me to here this garbage time and time again. Why don't the Muslim Arabs build schools, hospitals, and other community needs instead of blaming everyone and the Jew instead of blowing up, fomenting hate and stealing from their own. Jealously my friends, they just are jealous of a people that no matter what has risen to greatness. Devorah
