You''re speaking to men.

Nobody's offering me an aliyah. Simchas Torah is a downer for women. It's the last day of a very long month of cooking & serving meals, and I find very little that's relevant. T'filat Geshem speaks to me in a huge way, but after that, I'm staying home.

Joining as in the CHAI in chain

I see in words a deep story, that is a container for all stories, running across Babel, which means gate, in Sanskrit. A long time ago I had a deep spiritual experience, in the streets of a synagogue in Cambridge, MA where people do dance in the street on Simchas Torah, and I have witnessed and been drawn into that celebration. It is warm and wonderful! My experience: to see the Hebrew letters strewn in the streets, shining in the moonlight, made of rain, after the rains, on leaving a class on Kabbalah. I was not alone. This was a shared experience, but the others had left. It was intense. Not only did I never forget, but the letters come to me. They dance, they deconstruct, and I am gifted a story, which I have been putting down for many, many years and writing my heart down the lines. Yesterday, I know, I came full circle. And I WILL be heard, and my Diary WILL be read. As God wrote, the entire story! What circles are the birds in autumn, and it is autumn, a solemn time of year, and beautiful, redolent in that flame of leaves, of the burning bush, of Moses and the story of Exodus. And autumn itself, a word, a retreat as in aut, and in the OM of it all. Yes, I deconstruct and listen hard to words, to language, and see a magnificent story. I think it's about time. And it's also about time, as this has to be the most amazing story ever told, and we're all in it! Know that we are more connected to each other than we ever thought. And YES, listen here, and do join in, and Dance! For JOY.
