An American starting over in Israel...

...was one of the greatest things I have done in my life.

Good Ideas Rabbi.

Had a bad day? Go to bed. Everything resets while you sleep and tomorrow will be better.

~ ~ ~ Painting a room and you decide you hate the color. Stop. Buy another gallon and start over with another color. Why live with something when $20 will make it better. ~ ~ The kids are gone, your marriage isn't giving either of you joy and you aren't thriving as a couple. Talk it out and start over. Together or apart it's up to you. ~ ~ ~ I've started over in a major way three times.. (life changing) The latest thing, Retirement, was a stupid decision, so starting over again after 6 years. Will run the business a little differently because I'm 23 years older than when I opened my shop. Starting over recharges you and you work better (like that gas grille) Thanks for the video.

I have shut down and started over successfully many times

Dear Rabbi Solomon:

Your video about starting over came at a very apropos time. Just before listing to your video I had to shut down and restart my computer which had indulged in one of its rare moments—misbehaving!

Getting more serious, 12 years ago my first wife passed away after a brief but unexpected illness. At first I went through the normal grieving process—denial, anger, depression, and finally acceptance.

Then after a period of time I put my mourning behind me and envisioned myself getting remarried. Several months later, I met Chana. Exactly 1 year after our first date, Chana & I got married and in 11 weeks we will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Boruch Hashem, my marriage to her is even better than my first marriage.

We all have the ability to put the past behind us and move forward.
