This is slightly off topic....

However, I wanted to thank you for providing the close captioning in this video. I appreciate it, and I am sure I am not the only person who does. Todah Raba!!

Re: The rise in mental illness/emotional problems

I agree that many children do not know the meaning of the word no. However, we did not have FEWER emotional problems/mental illness in children in the '50s and '60s. What we had was a code of silence. ("Don't talk about that. It's not nice.") IMO, if a child wants an expensive item, he/she will appreciate it far more if he/she has earned it.

Um, incorrect

While it's true that the silence of the 50s and 60s has its ill effect, the numbers are clear - and easily obtainable. There's far more mental illness amongst kids nowadays than there was 50 years ago. Far more.

To commenter Eliav

May I ask where you got the statistics from re: more mental illness among children today? That question was 100% serious. You mentioned that the numbers are easily obtainable. Could you please tell me where you obtained them? Thanks in advance!

So refreshing to watch this

In an ever increasing materialistic age, it was so refreshing to hear words that are sane, sound and sensible. I wish every parent in the US and UK could see this and put it into practice. What a different world the place could be in the next generation!!
