There's no trick in making an old man cry.

This echoes, in some small sense, something I said almos 35 years ago.

This is NOT just Chanukah.
This is Judaism.
This is the Jews.
What's the message?

NEVER Give Up.
Right, it's all a shambles, and there's only this one, tiny jar.
Right, we're beaten before we start, because we only have one day's worth.

Not important.

Do what you can, now, and
Never, EVER Give up!

That video was so inspirational!!!

It so clearly depicted all of Jewish history!

It reminded me of the famous story (.. they even made a song out of it Man From Vilna/4wllto?src=5) about how after the Holocaust a few Jews gathered to dance on Simchas torah in a destroyed synagogue hoping to find a Sefer Torah only to discover there where none...until someone picked up a Child and danced with the child - The Jewish Nation WILL live on ....

Ah freilichen Chanukah,

What about the Macabees????

Yes, of course the miracle of the oil is significant, however, what about the Macabees? They did not want to assimilate like so many other Jews at that time. For so few, they took a stand, not to give up and not to assimilate. They fought and they won. They are the true miracle. We should hear more about them and not just about the oil in the Temple.. Just saying......

true, but...

Yes, the Macabees victory is the true miracle, but because it is hard to see God's miracles in the actions of man, the miracle of the oil was sent to help people see both.
