The High Holidays mark the beginning of the Jewish new year. They begin with the holiday of Rosh Hashanah (Sept 30 - Oct 1, 2019) and culminate ten days later with Yom Kippur (Oct 9, 2019). This period is known as the The Tens Days of Penitence. It is a time when God is especially close to us and hears our prayers.
