MAH NISHTANAH
- THE 4 QUESTIONS

Mah nish'tanah ha'lailah hazeh mikol ha'leylos?

Shebechol haleylos anu ochlim chametz umatzoh, Halaylah hazeh kulo matzoh.

Shebechol haleylos anu ochlim she'or yirakos, Halaylah hazeh (kulo) maror.

Shebechol haleylos ein anu matbilin afilu pa'am echos, Halailah hazeh shetei pe'amim.

Shebechol haleylos anu ochlim bein yoshvin uvein misubin, Halailah hazeh kulonu mesubin.

Why is this night different from other nights?

That on other nights we eat leavened bread or matzah, on this night we eat matzah

That on other nights we eat other greens, on this night we eat bitter herbs.

That on other nights we do not dip even once, on this night we dip twice.

That on other nights we eat sitting or reclining, on this night we all recline.

AVADIM HAYINU

Avadim hayinu, lePharoh biMitzrayim. (Avadim hayinu, atto benei chorin.)

We were slaves, to Pharoah in Egypt. (We were slaves, now we are free men.)

VIHEE SHE'OMDO

Ve'hee she'omdo lavoseinu vilanu. Shelo echod bilvad omad oleinu lichaloseinu. Eloh shebichol dor vodor omdim oleinu lichaloseinu. Vehakodosh Boruch Hu matzileinu miyodom.

And God stood up for our fathers and for us. Not only one rose against us to destroy us. In every generation many rose against us to destroy us. And the Holy One, Blessed is He, saved us from their hand.

MIKIMI

Mikimi mei'ofor dol.

He raises me from the lowly dust

BITZEIS YISROEL MIMITZRAYIM

Bitzeis Yisroel mimitzrayim, Beis Ya'akov mei'am lo'eiz, Hoyso Yihudo likodsho, Yisroel limamshilosov.

Hayam ro'oh vayonos, Hayardein yisov le'ochor, Hehorim rokdu chi'eilim, Givo'os kivnei tzon.

Ma licho hayam Ki sonus, Hayardein tisov li'ochor, Hehorim tirkidu chi'eilim Givo'os kivnei tzon.

Milifnei Adon, chuli oretz, Milifnei Elohai Ya'akov. Hahofchi hatzur, agam mayim, Chalomish limayno mayim.

When Israel left Egypt, The House of Jacob from a foreign land, Judah was in his holiness, Israel in its rule,

The sea saw and fled, The Jordan turned back, The mountains danced like sheep, Hills like lambs

Why do you flee, O sea, Jordan why do you turn back, Mountains why do you leap like sheep, hills like lambs.

Before the Master of all the world, Before the God of Jacob Who turns the rock into a pool of water, Flint into a spring of water.

MIN HAMEITZAR

Min hameitzar korosi Yoh, Ononi bamerchav Yoh.

From narrow straits I call God. God answers me in greatness.

CHASAL SEDUR PESACH

Chasal sidur pesach kihilchoso. Kichol mishpoto vichukoso.
Kasher zochinu kisader oso. Kein nizkeh la'asoso.

The Passover Seder is complete, According to its laws, judgements, and statutes,
Just as we merited to do this seder, May we also merit in the future to do

One baby goat, one baby goat. And along came the Holy One, Blessed is He, and removed the Angel of Death, that killed the butcher, that slaughtered the ox, that drank the water, that put out the fire, that burnt the rod, that hit the dog, that bit the cat, that ate the baby goat, that father bought for two zuz coins. One baby goat, one baby goat.

Many thanks to Rebbe Michoel for the use of his music. May you have a Kosher and Joyous Holiday!

First time singing this myself!

I'm going to surprise my parents at the seder tomorrow night. I don't speak too much hebrew and cannot read it at all, but with the tune and transliteration available, I'm going to give them a little surprise and finally fulfil this mitzvah - I'm 28! Pesach Sameach!

A beautiful rendition !

One can hear the love of the traditional melodies coming through the words of the singer. Pesach is truly a joyous and wonderful holy day.
