The more we avoid idolatry, such as anger and frustration toward something or someone, and perform the best out of our free will, the more freedom we will enjoy where we do what is in our interest and G-d's interest hand-in-hand, and less by mankind's expectations, which can often consist of idolatry.

would've liked a kid- friendly passover film that had some scary stuff in it! and my question is still: freedom from what?

I know this comes a year after you asked the question on the Aish.com site, & maybe you've gottena good answer since then, but here is MY suggestion; it's not freedom from, it's freedom TO CHOOSE between 2 similar things like 2 hamburgers, one kosher, one not. One is cheaper, but is forbiden by G-d. At that moment when you must choose between your desires and submiting to Gd's will, you are truly free, truly human.

It is my understanding that the one true freedom a Jew has is the G-d given gift of free will, to choose what is right, to choose to follow G-d's will for us, which was the whole purpose for which we were taken out of Egypt. We left our slavery to Egypt and Egyptian society to receive the Torah, the blueprint for every Jew's life; that's where we find true freedom to be who we are meant to be and become, certainly not from hollow Hollywood.

Although this video was thought provoking and maybe catches the eye of those who are seeking don't forget the real meaning of Passover. Our truly awesome G...thought enough of His people to provide redemption for them on that Passover night many years ago. Yes there was opression and slavery but more so may we concentrate on the true story of Moses and how he led his people to freedom with the Almighty's help. If we forget the story which is truth and only concentrate on the application we've totally missed the point. I choose to tell my children and grandchildren what happened when people spread the blood of the Passover lamb above the lintels of their doors. That was true freedom from death and then a new chance for life. The angel of death passed over those families that night--redemption is the real message here--a foretaste of what was to come. If you want to get the attention of the young don't neglect to tell them the true stories of old which can only encourage and motivate them.. I love movies but when it comes down to it the history of the Jewish people in Torah and elsewhere only confirms His grace and mercy in dealing with the human race. My faith has been inspired by what J..... G.. did through miracles and at Passover. That night is important as it gave the Jewish nation the freedom to move on and make their way to the promised land--may we not "pass over" the real meaning here in an attempt to interest our generation but continue to celebrate the Passover --the story is still true today!

it would have been nice to have seen some women in action - is freedom (as opposed to meet conformity) only for men?

Wow! Thanks. This is something grasp onto and consider; not only during this frame of time but every day. Freedom is spelled HOPE when you invite God into the picture. Fredom is endless: from mindsets we have been in bondage to , addictions, fear, guilt, and so much more.

great video There's so many things that freedom can mean. For example, for someone out there who's a recovery smoker, their's is being able to go without a cigerret and controlling the urge. Once again nice video

Freedom goes beyond the Jewish concept...it is a unique concept given by our Creator to all of us. This video was really good. Also love the fact it did begin with The Prince of Egypt and ended with it. One of my fav movies period.
