Rabbi Goldhar does it again--he is brilliant and proves less is more.
Once again Rabbi Goldhar takes a "long story and makes it short" and does so in a clear and thoughtful manner!!

Very impressed with the Rabbi's attention to individual posts below
An article or video is good. When we're allowed to post comments that's one step better. When the author/speaker takes the time to respond to some comments, I think that's truly wonderful (though obviously not always practical or possible). The content is outstanding, but the attitude is even better. Chag Sameach :-)

I appreciate the feedback on the video, attitude and responding to the comments. :)
Have a wonderful Chag,

Congratulation to AISH Team
You are doing a wonderful work, the explanation was very comprehensive and I enjoy to watch the clip.
I would like to emhesize two things about the Seder event:
This is a wanderful oportunity for the older members of the family to tell stories - educate the kids ( as said in Hebrow "ve higadeta le baneha" ).
The other thing is that the Hagada contain the story about the war that each one of us have to fight, war against the evil inside us ("Yetzer ha ra" ,it doesn't matter how many miracles God did to take us out of Ehypt we go back to the Golden Calf), so we have to make a hametz cleaning not only in our house but may be more importanat in our souls.
The Passover seder meal is a good oportunity to do both things ;educate the young generation and to clean ourselves from the evil that exist inside us .

u did not say that esmael is a brother of jacob he was in the jewish family he was holly too he built kabaa with his father ebraheam he was for the other nations
he loves his brother and thought him he was in the family dont ignor that ecptially when we meet peace wih moslems they are brothers
April 8, 2011 6:00 AM
Your spelling is atrocious!!
April 8, 2011 3:11 PM
Ishmael was the half brother of Isaac, not Jacob
The Jewish family stems from Jacob, who was also called Israel. His sons were the future founders of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Jacob's father Isaac had a half brother named Ishmael, who was the son of Abraham and Hagar. Hagar was Sarah's maidservant and when Sarah was sterile she gave Hagar to Abraham to have a child. This was prior to Isaac's birth.
This is why Jews and Moslems often refer to each other as cousins.

April 4, 2011 7:55 PM
Rabbi Goldhar mentions that Jews encourage their children to ask questions at the seder.
I received an email that South Korea, with 50 million people, has adopted the study of Talmud, translated into Korean, as mandatory education. They value the values of showing respect to elders, family values, high academic achievement, the Friday night meal together, the tradition of parents teaching their children. I wonder if they allow the asking of questions..
