terrific singing and fantastic fabulous video!!! SO well done!

I was very impressed that there was only grape juice and no wine in the video (watch carefully!). I appreciate the sensitivity of not making a public video that's supposed to be viewed by millions ( who not all can understand the mitzva of ad dlo yada and the real essence of purim) showing young men drinking alchohol. Yeshar Koach!!

שיר מקסים , מושקע ומרגש. נפלא שניתן להנות משיר קצבי ועכשוי ובמקביל להנות מתוכן יהודי .....ישר כח, ה' יברך אתכם על העשייה היפה! .

The song was great! Now, how about composing a new song instead of using someone else's?
March 25, 2011 3:39 AM
Dang, I agree!
So true, everyone is all like, whoo hoo maccabeats, you rock (they do!) and, yeah, such a kiddush hashem, blah blah blah. I luv the singing, video, costumes, lyrics....they are talented, creative and inspiring; they're just not too original. I try not to listen to Non-J music and i also feel that it's not so much a kidush Hashem if you are making a parody of a disgusting song, and therefore acknowledging its worthiness or whatever. Just my point of view, just agreeing, but I still like the Maccabeats!

everything has sparks
You know, some Hasidic masters of the past took Polish peasent songs and infused it with kedusha, changing the lyrics to Jewish ones.

Keep making these songs. They are great!

Great video. Except toasting glasses by hitting them together is a pagan ritual not Jewish. The Vikings did it to chase the bad spirits away. La Chaim is all we need.

Kol Hakavod to the Maccabeats!
The Maccabeats have done it again! They really captured the spirit of Purim in a beautiful way and have given Jews of all levels of religiosity the opportunity to celebrate and be proud of their heritage. You guys at Aish should put this video up on the main section like you did for the Chanuka video.

Esther was a lonely orphan who developed within herself the unusual qualities of piercing through veils and touching all hearts.
Is Purim just a fun-filled dress up holiday? Or is it something more? Perhaps it's a flip-flop, upside-down, full of surprises kind of day...not at all what you'd expect.
The character of Queen Vashti in the Purim story helps us define what it means to be a hero or a villain.
Every Jewish holiday has its music, and Purim is no exception.
Humanity changed the day Joseph forgave his brothers.
