what was the accusation leveled against the jews that made them to suffered a great ordeal in the hands of the Germans. whatever it might be, i think Hitler was misled by some veiled people. that is to say hitler was instigated by the jewish enemies.

Why
How did we not know what was going on at the time.I mean yes if a person escaped and went back home they would tell everybody that it was all good and happy. But that is not ture, so my question to you is why did we not now what was going on. When they kept moving you should of have all the military in all the parts that we were firends with to help stop this mad anger to the world. Now many people have to live with the fact they survied, and it is a good thing, but it also might be very had for them to live. All they remember is the life that they had in the Holocaust.

Rememberance should be essential
I'm studying Judaism for my A2 level and have found story of the Holocaust to be truly unhuman. A crime of ultimate guilt dealt out to a collective faith of beauty and wonder. I'm gutted that i have found this site one day before my exams but...it has taught me much. The lesson should always be world historical, guilt lies in all corners of the world.

Repeated history?
There are a plenty of resemblances between the Germany of the 1930s and nowadays Romania. Despite the fact that the Jewish community is extremely small in the Romanian Society, they are blamed for everything bad there.

There is not a difference between the comments on the forum sections of Romanian journals and typical Nazi propaganda.

Thank God I immigrated to Canada.

I am one of the 1919 Moravia Jewish generation, growing later amon the Germans in the Sudeten and as volunteer in the Czech Exile Army in Poland, Soviet Union, Middle East, etc. survived as only member of my family the Shoa. The value of the way of our history re-counting and the way of their publications is priceless.

This is very infromational.
I have a friend, I will not disclose his name because he still suffers a pain that is great and would not like it if I did disclose. He is Jewish. He says, "It is the worst hell of my life, waking up every morning and knowing those numbers." He has great aunts and uncles, and his grandparents that were part of the concentration cammps. Most of the stuff on this page is extremely infromational. Thank you

It's such a wonderful and touching sight. I feel so happy to know the honour these people upheld is recognized. My own family went through this horrible event, and very few of us came out. I am so glad that the sacrifice they gave to G-d is noticed and that they are given the honour they deserve, the honour they died for to uphold. Thank you. This website really made me think about the horror of the Holocaust!
I am doing a research paper on the Holocaust. My grandfather fought as an American allie. i was raised to believe that all races are equal and even though I am a Christian and not a Jew I still respect their belief because we all are serving the same True God and I hope one day that everyone will realize the importance of unity as a nation under God not a seperated country of injustice towards others who arent the same race or religion as we are.

We are learning about the holocaust and I really think it's so horrible what they did to people in there. My teacher showed us pictures in a book and one was a picture of all the glasses of the people and there looked like about one billion glasses from just one camp. I just can't believe that there was even people who were there. To all the survivers that are still around today may my heart be with you. You the survivers, are strong. Thank you for a great website. I have read a few books about the holocaust, and let me tell you , it broke my heart and i was crying almost constantly through the whole book (the book was about schindler's list). my heart goes out to all the survivors.
i'm a hindu, and from india. when i was growing up , we did not have anything about the holocaust in our history books, although i knew about it through TV and magazines. i just want to tell you that all people should know about it no matter whatver part of the world they live in because the treachery committed against the jews is not just about jews...it is about human beings and i believe that humans are humans, we all feel pain, hurt, sorrow, boundaries of countries do not change our basic element.

Maus is awesome
I highly recommend a book called Maus. It is a graphic novel by Art Spiegelman. His father survived many things associated with the Holocaust. The book casts Jews as mice, Germans as cats, Polish as pigs, etc. It is not a cute, funny-animal kind of story. It is a well-detailed, insightful exploration of World War II from the point of view of one man/mouse.

It's SO important...
Although I am only 23 and not Jewish or have any relatives that died in the holocaust, I've read and seen a lot about the subject. I've been to Theresienstadt in '96 and last year I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau. I think the work you're are doing by hosting this website is SO important; still... In my opinion, youth these days know far to little about the Holocaust and we have to keep bringing it to their attention to make sure nothing like this will ever happen again.....

Teaching lesson to remember
Thank you for these information about Holocust.I gained lots of learning from your web-site.
It is not only a horro nightmares to Jews but also to the world.How could the world governments in the 1930 -1945 still so heartless for not stopping such terrible act.
I thought all these while that my country I lived was under Japanese occupation and many of our people suffered under the Japanese occupation.
Not until I started to read much information about Holocust.The Japanese occupation and the torture is nothing much as compare to the Jews has suffered.
Since, then my heart was pour out to the Jews and Israel....And I want to bless and love them because "Salvation comes from Jews". And I strongly believe that we owe our debt to the Jews.
I can imagine the horror these Holocust Jews went through at that time.

Why did it happen
I dont belive that Germans didnt know about the holocaust, I mean who wouldnt notice that 6 million jews had been extermineted, and God knows how many moved? I feel very distreesed about this fact as I belive history never goes away, and that it repeats itself! Could this happen in Britain, It already has! Except this time it has went 'underground'. I think your website is just the greatest piece of evidence of the holocast did happen. To those who don't believe it how can you not????
I've seen the memorial at Nueuegamme forced labor camp and Sachehasuen north of Berlin. Im going to see Theriesenstadt in July.I'm on this mission of understadning the holocast. I found your website in the process. At Sacheshausan spelling wrong but you were shown lists of people and the records that were kept of the them and barracks the ovens.You think it's something you have read about and soemting that not im my lifetime can people do that kind of thing. I am a dramature reseaching the Holocaust for the play "Cabaret" Thank you for this enlightening site. In 1930 Was Nollendorfplatz a place where the Nazi's were 'gathering' the Jews, as in a Jewish ghetto? One of the characters in the play mentions that he is moving there and I'd like to be able to explain the significance of this line, if it is indeed important. I'm a young Jewish woman and have studied and felt passionately about Jewish life for many years, especially the Holocaust. I did extensive research on the Holocaust in college and attempted to explain to everyone how the 'propaganda machine' got started, and why the Jews were targeted. Some people say, 'The Jews must have done something wrong to anger the German people.' Noooooo. They became the scapegoats for the economic and social problems in the country; they had the wealth (or the means to get it) and the German people were lacking it. Very simple..
