The end of the year is often a time for people to look back and reflect on the major things that happened to them in the preceding 12 months. Likewise, news agencies compile "retrospectives" on the major news stories of the year, which conveniently gets them out of generating any new content. So in this great traditional of journalistic laziness, Jewlarious presents you with our own retrospective, a "Jewtrospective" if you will -- our top articles of 2007 -- the best jokes, articles and videos as determined by you, the Jewlarious community. Our year wins!!

R' Shlomo Carlebach A"H would say over in the name of rabbi's, that On new years day, there is cause for us to celebrate for all the goodness we receive. How does this go? It goes as follows. Because on our new-year, there is a tremendous judgment as we all know. So for us personally, in our humility, we see the blessings as hanging - in limbo - in mid air. However, when their new-year comes and it is just 'what it is', then we can pray and be happy that certainly He will shower us with all the blessings which were actually planned out for us on R"H.
p.s. I remember this past summer. I was trying to get a piece of equipment for a certain important job and was having a hard time the whole summer. Finally it was in stock -in Ellul- and even then there was a mistake with the shipper and it took another few days. Ultimately, it arrived on Erev Rosh Hashono in the morning. So I thought of what our rabbis say, 'All food of a person is set for him from R"H until R"H except for the spendings for Shabbos and Yom Tov and the spendings for his sons for learning Torah.
Hence, in this case, even receiving a piece of equipment can be said to fall into this category, especially if it took so much time and then showed up just on ER"H; certainly we see the Divine Hand with this!
