As they are leaving shul, Shloimie says to his friend Avrahom, "Why do you look so distraught? Is anything wrong?"
"You should have asked, ‘Is anything right?’” replies Avrahom. "My business is in terrible shape and I owe a lot of money. A lot. (dramatic pause) And I don't have the slightest idea where I'm going to get it from."
"Oh, I'm so glad to hear that," says Shloimie.
"Why do you say that?" says Avrahom, "I thought we were friends."
"We are," says Shloimie, "I said that because for a moment, I thought you were going to ask me to lend you the money."
