85 year old Selma Epstein walked into a shoe store and asked for a pair of shoes, size 5.
The sales assistant said: "Are you sure, Ma’am" You look like a size 8 to me."
"Just bring me a size 5," insisted Selma.
So the assistant fetched a pair of size 5 shoes and Selma squeezed her feet into them with obvious discomfort. She then stood up in the shoes, but with considerable pain.
"Listen," she explained, "my husband Irving doesn’t hear well anymore, my daughter Shirley never calls me, my best friend won’t talk to me, and my daughter in law Jackie, oy is she a piece of work! The only pleasure I have left is to come home at night and take my shoes off!"
