Chaim and Yankel were walking through the countryside when they happened upon a large hole in the ground.

"What should we do about the hole?" Chaim asked Yankel.

"Should we put a sign over it telling people to beware?" Yankel asked

"First, why don't we check how deep the hole is," said Chaim.

"Good idea. How?" asked Yankel.

"Why don't we throw something down the hole and listen to hear when it crashes."

"Great idea, Chaim. You are always so resourceful."

Yankel found a large anvil with a rope tied around it. He picked it up and heaved it into the hole. They waited, waited and waited, and finally heard a loud CRASH.

A few seconds later they heard what sounded like galloping. Then they saw a goat with a rope tied around its neck run towards them and jump into the hole.

"Did you see that Yankel?! What kind of crazy goat just jumps into a hole?"

Then, a farmer walked by. He noticed Chaim and Yankel and asked, "Have you seen my goat? I tied him to an anvil."
