Moishe and Miriam Kaplan always encourage their four children to try new foods. But like most kids, they resist. On a recent visit to their Bubbie’s, Miriam asked each of them to sample one of her home made pickled herring.
Only seven-year-old Chaim was willing to try them. After he'd managed a tentative nibble, Bubbie asked, “Nu, so how is it?”
“It would be good, Bubbie…” Chaim replied diplomatically “…if I liked it.”
