David and Mazal Hadad were proudly sending their son Yossi off to the Israeli army. But they did have one concern: seeing as though this was his first time away from home, they were worried, perhaps Yossi would stop going to shul every morning.
During his fourth week of basic training, Yossi was able to make a brief phone call home. His father got around to asking, “So Yossi are you going to shul?”
“Yes Abba,” Yossi responded. “Every day.”
David was both relieved and proud to hear it. “Every day – kol hakavod. I am very proud of you.”
"All of the guys in my unit go to shul every day” Yossi added. "It’s the only place we don’t get yelled at."
