A former Israeli politician who had been removed from his position because of financial improprieties was in need of a complicated operation. He awoke at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital after the long surgery, and found that the curtains had been drawn around him. "Why are the curtains closed," he said. "Is it night?"
A nurse replied, "No, there is a fire across the street, and we didn't want you waking up and thinking that the operation was unsuccessful."
