On a road just outside of Tel Aviv, construction workers closed a road in order to repair a collapsed sewer-pipe. The workers put up a sign in Hebrew saying:
ROAD CLOSED
But, since the actual road closure was not apparent until you drive around a bend, and Israeli drivers being, well, Israeli drivers, many would drive around anyway to see if the road was really closed.
After the drivers started seeing that the road really was closed, they started making their way back. Their embarrassment was then made worse by another sign right behind the ROAD CLOSED sign, but facing them on their return. The new sign read:
WE TOLD YOU, BUT DID YOU LISTEN?!
