"Nature is a gift from God and every blade of grass is a potential lesson that a rabbi can offer to his congregation in a sermon," Rabbi Markowitz told his shul one Shabbat morning.
The next day, the rabbi was mowing his lawn when Morty Applebaum, a member of the shul came along.
Mr. Applebaum stood and watched his rabbi mow for a while. Then, nodding his head in approval, he said, "Way to go, rabbi, cut 'em short."
