Dressed for Success

The Adlers were a hasidic family with five sisters and three brothers. They were looking through their family photo albums one day and picture after picture they were all dressed in matching clothes. Shaindy, the eldest, asked their mother why she dressed them all alike, right down to the baby.

Mrs. Adler explained, "When we had just four children, I dressed you alike so we wouldn't lose any of you. Then," she added, looking at the pictures in the album, "when the other five came along, I started dressing you alike so we wouldn't pick up any that didn't belong to us."
