The Out of Towners’ Dinner

At Moishe’s Delicatessen, Moishe was catering for the Himmleman Bar Mitzvah where they rented out the whole restaurant for an out of town guests dinner. In his haste, Moishe forgot to refrigerate the mayonnaise and it sat on the counter all day. He worried about spoilage, but it was too late to make another batch of deli sandwiches.

So Moishe called the local Poison Control Center to ask. The receptionist took a message and said that someone would call him back.

That night, the phone rang at Moishe’s Delicatessen during the out of towners dinner. Moishe was busy tending to the dinner party so Uncle Harry, one of the guests, thought it would be funny if he answered the phone. Suddenly Uncle Harry’s face dropped as he called out, "Moishe! It’s the Poison Control Center. They want to talk to you about the deli sandwiches?!"
