dog and pony show
I am uncomfortable with the tone of this story. As my title suggests, it has the semblance of a dog and pony show. I think it is wonderful that Steven has this gift, but why is it so important to tie his gift to his autism. When we do this, it becomes "them and us". "Them" who are different and only get recognition because they have this remarkable gift. What about all those folks who are different but don't have remarkable gifts; how do they get seen in this world. What about their isolation. Steven is a gifted man, a wonderful artist, and also happens to have autism. That's where the priority should lie.

You are right
you are right in acertain sense but it really depends on you rown perspective! I personally didnt see it that way. If you generally associate with them as them and us than thats what you think when you see something like this! I personally work with children or adults with special needs and I learn a lot from them. I LOV THEM!! I saw this as an accomplishment that would make the headlines of the news no matter whether it had been someone special or not. But on the other hand you do have to take his disabilities into consideration because that is reality and THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT ALL THE MORE INSPIRING AND ASTONISHING!!! That yes even someone with such difficulty could accomplish great things; It gives us a pus for our life!!
