Marketing not the Antithesis of Truth

Our rabbis explain that if one hates another, it may escalate to far beyond what they were originally upset about, and likewise love. When one loves, he will add and just want to give. Sometimes it is better to charge for an item if albeit even only a little - so that the person is not receiving a handout. Also the person will respect the item / service more. So, alas, if we say a cereal tastes great, or a plane ride is smooth, is that dishonesty? Although it is true that taste is open for opinion and some flights in history have ended in tragedy, proclaiming the good is actually informing the customer – of what he really wants to know! On the other hand at the same time, the basics of what is being advertised must be true. If there were less cereal than the printed amount or the airline would just cancel a flight and not give reasonable accommodations, this would be outright wrong. It is good to say praises, people really want to hear them. But they should not cover up serious problems (and then people will detect it!). (p.s. I know of at least one plane crash where it was just because the pilot wanted to get off the ground already, and took off without clearance. It was very foggy and he didn't realize that another plane was still on the runway. Bad character, such as this, caused two full planes to crash and ignite, with very few survivors.) In conclusion we can thus say that marketing is not the antithesis of truth!!! (p.s. Interestingly, these attitudes can be applied to life – one’s feelings of oneself and how to present oneself to others. What is honesty, and what are real, plain unnecessary words which are just getting the other nervous unnecessarily!!!

    Be believe thruthful people!

Of course! If a company (person) displays truth in a trying situation (like trying to sell their product) then you trust them to be truthful in general.

We live in a world that Truth is is between black

Yes we live in a world that is caught between black and grey. And any one who tries to see theblack and white of it will be called a bigit and a wacko. But thats where you will find the kindest people on earth and only one book is in the knowing that book is Torah and we are the people of black and white. Nothing in between will work for us so lets get together and have a party for 8 days and remember the miracles of Truth! Moses and arron have shown us the way and where they lead I will follow ! How about you.

    after time, it would work

i think that, initially,if an advertizer only says the truth, he wouldn't get that far, but after a while, the area he lives in will get influenced andhe willeventuallly be the winner!
