I tend to be somewhat competitive by nature, but have found out that it is not always a satisfactory experience for one's ego. A teacher said not to worry, "there is place in this world for everybody". Whenever I have a low day I remember this and find that it makes me much stronger personally.

Its how you play the game

There is a saying by a famous master of the martial arts who said this The ulitmit aim of karate do lies not in victory or defeat but in the perfection of ones charactor Gichen Funikoshi O sensei' I feel it not if you win or lose in a game sportmanship is about your charactor and that you have fun its the same as the game of life there are so many times you win some lose some. Its how you play its how you apply yourself to the game are you a team member or just trying to be the main star player at the exclusion of everybody else. I think you a winner if you are a true sportsman if your Charactor is a winning one if you accept yourself and just enjoy the game. ITS THE PERFECTION OF YOUR CHARACTOR NOT IN WINNING or LOSING EVERYBODY HATES A SORE LOSER

Earn your rewards

When I was teaching, my students had to earn their rewards. I think it is unfair to give kids kudos just because they are breathing. What kind of a lesson does that teach children?

It's more fun to win

I coached Little League baseball in an area with heavy Jewish population and although we stressed having fun and good spotsmanship we also stressed playing hard and try to win because in truth its more fun.
