Jimmy Kimmel rox
I loved this clip from when I watched it on Youtube, but after the laughs and all, when you think about it, they're really mocking the Jewish holidays and events and I don't go with that.

I am still fighting for my children's school calenders
I think we are all the better for being able to laugh at a truly funny video. I am with Malkah, however, when it comes to having to fight for my children's Constitutionally guaranteed right to be both observant Jews and students of a non-Jewish school system. I am STILL fighting the good fight to not have testing on the first days of Passover and RH and YK.

Do unto others
If the Christian and Muslim world doesn't have a problem with games being played on their highest holidays, we Jews would expect the same. Each of us need to choose what is right for us, and let the rest do as they may. I do, however, object to what seemed to be the "Fun" poked at the tradition for Jews. Seems disrespectful somehow...

why they don't honor our holidays
first, the video was super.
I grew up in the deep South at a time when this was a white Christian nation, and Secular Christians were counted among the faithful if they put a Christmas tree up and got their kids Easter baskets. The greater majority of Christians have so little sense of the Evolution of their own religion so it is no wonder that they are not curious or respectful of other religions. Our own secular cultural only Jews don't help their understanding.
When I taught school they graciously allowed me to take Personal days for religious holidays. When my children were in school, I had to fight not only for them not to schedule major test on holidays, but also to not reschedule the test for the day after Rosh HaShonah or for the 1st & 2nd days of Passover when the kids were too tired to even think if I let them go to school.
It is incumbent upon us to make demands on the system, get our holidays on the calendars, make them give us the respect of acknowledging our place in the grand scheme of things. My Bubbi used to say "If you don't ask, you won't get"

overlooked Jewish holidays
It's sad that Jewish holidays tend to get overlooked. Many non-Jews say that they don't know anything about Judaism. For instance, when I went for an interview fairly recently, the employer was focused on showing up on a regular basis and overtime to the point that I would have to miss out on Jewish holidays as he asked me if I could handle (perhaps it was fortunate that I didn't get that position). In school, many classes are still in session "accordingly", unless the teacher or professor, usually at a college is Jewish him/herself. So, since when do the more idolatrous holidays gain more attention for a day off than G-d's holidays?? Even so, I could imagine Gentile children saying "I wish I were Jewish so I could skip school (on RH and YK)".
