Big and little things
It's a beautiful story. I do believe that almost anyone we know would have been willing to do the same thing. The question about teaching good character traits applies more to the little things in our daily lives, not these one time big events.

Rigidity and Character Traits
It is firstly ridiculous that these people could not think outside of the box and count the home-run. But because of this rigidity it brought some amazing character traits in those girls.

wow. that was beautiful. first to see Sara who was soo determined to rightfully and honestly get her run, then the two special girls who carried her around the bases.
How do you teach your kids good character traits? by example!
when children see their parents doing or admiring acts of integrity, when children see their role models' priorities, what they value and who they look up to, it teaches them more then all the lessons they actually verbally teach them.

A beautiful caring act.
The Central Washington Players and team should be proud of their actions. They showed what compassion is all about. Mallory Holtman and her teamates will always have good memories of that one game out of all they have played. Yashar Koach to them and their coach.
