I don't think that we can necessarily achieve everything that we set our minds to. Sometimes there are circumstances out of our control, or limitations that prevent us from reaching our goal. But, if we don't believe that it's possible to achieve what seems impossible, then it's guaranteed that we won't even come close to our goal. So, thank you for posting this video, it inspired me, and I will keep remembering it's message, especially when things get rough.

Surely not totally deaf
I am legally deaf - having no natural hearing at all. I have a cochlear implant so can 'hear' sounds although not clearly. If Derrik wears hearing aids - as appears - he is hard of hearing not really deaf. Otherwise how would he be able to hear the coach's instructions.

even if he is just HOH, it is still a great accomplishment! being deaf, profoundly or partly, offers challenges, as I am sure you know.my son is profoundly deaf, and he has bilateral cochlear implants. my goal is to raise him in an environment where he is encouraged to do anything he puts his mind to! i think derrick coleman is a great role model.
