My husband ztl Rabbi Joseph H. Feinstein wrote
this show in the 1970's when we lived in Los Angeles.
Baruch Hashem for many years this show has been
replayed and is still shown. The concluding lines
of this show brings forth the similarities of the Jewish
people and the Black being both having been slaves
and the desire to work together and understand each
I am still very proud when my children, grandchildren
see this video. The humor of being a Jew came
through with pride and joy.

They would have to sign up for a crash course in jewish words and use them asap.Goy and shiksa would be at the top of the list. They would also have to be a victim of anti semitic diatribes to understand what jews have endured for centuries. Not until those conditions have been met can they be officially known as jews.Shalom.

I am proud of being Jewish
I only discovered that I was Jewish when I was twelve years old and a girl at school told me that she wasn't allowed to associate with me any more (I thought she was my best friend) because I was "a little Yid". I had never heard such a word before and I had no idea what it meant. When I asked my mother, who was of-course, furious, she told me that her parents were Jewish, although totally non observant. She then swore me to secrecy !! Well, naturally as soon as I got to school the next day I told another older Jewish friend who explained a lot to me and had in fact, known all along who my mother was, as her mother had been at school with my mother. Why the secrecy? The reasons are many. Make no mistake Mark Miller, I have been called a good many other names too since then and you know what ? It makes me laugh. I am a Catholic, since converting to R.C.many years ago and have been roundly insulted on a good few occasions for my catholicism as well. I would and do, describe myself as a Roman Catholic Jew and I am proud to be both. How would I behave faced with a pogrom ? I have agonised over that many times and I suppose one never really knows how one would act in a given situation, until faced with the dreadful reality. I hope I would do the right thing, the decent & honourable thing. But I still identify very deeply with my Jewishness and I am glad of it. Shalom.

Same thing happened to me at age 60!
When I found out that my Grandparents were Jewish based on ship's logs from Ellis Island data bases, I thought "I knew I was Jewish!" I felt fulfilled and it felt like a missing piece was found! I love being Jewish despite the fact that I am not a practicing Jew. I do like the candles at (nearly) the prescribed times as "my people"!
