Actions vs Attitude

I think it all boils down to how your attitude is about your whole life. Take Joseph for example. His gift from G-d was dreams, having them and interpreting them. Before he got sold into slavery, he told everyone his dreams, which sparked jealousy in his brothers. In Egypt, the dreamers came to him for interpretation; he didn't boast his gift. That's when he was rewarded. So it's not that you MUST change your personality, it's all about how you think about it and respond to those beliefs, like how Joseph concluded his gift waa not his own but from G-d. But he did not become hopeless and thinking that he cannot control his fate. Now if we all can have an attitude like "Egypt Joseph", trusting in HaShem and that everything comes from Him, then we can adjust to what He has given us and use it to glorify Him.

Another Perspective

I haven't seen the movie, but judging from this video, it's not a MORAL change Ralph wants to undergo---being a "bad guy" in his video game is more like a job, and he wants a new one. So the question is a bit more muddied: how do you know WHAT you want to be?

God bless!
