It actually depends on which culture you're from-ascriptive or achievement. But in the shiduchim world, unfortunately ppl are so concerned about who u are, where your father went to school etc., and not enough fovus on what you do and how u act.

I actually thought a lot about that when I first watched he movie. I think in the end it's really both. In a sense you become what you do, so your actions mean more. that is what everyone sees. yet at the same time, what's inside counts for something as well. At what point does the action matter more than the inner truth? i still feel a bit divided on this. as silly as it sounds, under all the flare, & despite some of the annoying characters, the batman movies are pretty thought provoking. especially Dark Knight. that is an amazing film. it blew my mind. to the joker, it was all a game. puppet strings.
