I was bullied at school, as well. I was very studious and serious about my studies. Typical nerd, I guess. Girls do it much more overtly, of course, therefore it is more difficult for others to realise what is happening. It took me many years to get over it and unfortunately I now have to try to curb my waspish tongue which I had cultivated as a defence mechanism. The emotional scars of bullying stay long after the physical scars have faded.

One Effective Way
I was bullied in school because I was a small kid. My father had passed away and my uncle taught me to fight back. I did. I took several years, lots of detentions, but I eventually won. By the time I was in high school, no one bullied me. If I saw someone else getting hammered, I would step in. Now it was an even fight. I did not loose.
Today, I 'm a security consultant and weapons instructor.
Moral of the story, prayer works, but sometimes you have to get your knuckles bloodied by the blood of the enemy in order to stop the enemy. God honors and protects those who fight for justice.

Sad but not surprising
These students just perfectly demonstrated by-stander Syndrome. (Yes, that is an official term) The more people watching, the less likely someone will step in. That boy who stepped in was really brave, and most people wouldn't do that. Once one person steps in, often others start to help as well, but sadly here they didn't.

Yes this topic r all so well known by everybody. The scenario will determine the oppositional action. In my young days these type of guys will soon end in the principals office with a burning butt that is in flames, but nowa days its against "human rights" to spank purpetrators of school rules...coz of soft approaches and scew attitutes against rightiousness. Here in S.A. the victims of criminality is treated like scum and the criminals are treated like heroes and that is the end result of deteriated disciplinary actions at schools...fueling the bad and the ugle against the good and the beautiful....anybody who want to proof me wrong??

How long are people going to stand by and watch bullying take place in schools, in the playground, on the school bus, in offices, in any social setting, without everyone speaking up, or nearly everyone? That is the only way it is going to stop. Saying nothing is giving approval. It is also cowardly. It's yeller!!!!

Standing up to bullies
Judaism teaches us that to remain silent in the presence of a wrong is to be complicit in the wrong. You may not always be able to defeat the wrong, but you must speak out against it.

this could prevent these things and if teachers are also fearful of juvenile reprisals then school police are needed.
