I wish I had listened to my mother.
I'm not quite sure about his speech. Sounds good, but my mother's word were more wise, I quote, "Love many. Trust few. Always paddle your own canoe!" I wish I had treated those as absolute truths.

Truth is important but so is love
Is this about the above subject matter or is it about the need for young people to have heros and mentors they can believe in when someone has failed them? Something to hang onto - teddy bear philosophy - is necessary when you are young, but gently that person still needs a mentorship as they age to guide them into mature truths - otherwise the shocks that 'flesh is heir to' can give rise to difficult human 'fall-out': and confusion and disease, loss of connection & love can be the result. Torah says: trust in god not in nobles.
