Why, oh why, oh why, is anything that mocks Jews getting an automatic funny pass" Say this about any other group, and it will fall flat? Did you notice where people laughed? The Russian humor got some noise, but the jokes re "Jew" brought the house down.

Now why, is this on Aish? No, it's not cool to hate yourself. It's boorish. Well, its one way for Jewish humorists to beat an easy path to success: make fun of the Jew is self deprecating stlye, and you'll have it made. It fulfills latent antisemitism in a most acceptable fashion!

he he he thought we (in Africa) were the only victims of poor contractors, seems like it is a universal experience only replacing Russian immigrants for Angolan or Congolese contractors ...still getting used to the novelty of somwhat ¨wavy¨walls. Thanx for the laughter.

I Married the One Jewish Boy Who Fixes Things

The contractor he worked for (another Jew who was a commodities broker before making aliyah) payed my husband to take an Arabic course so they could both know what the Arab workers were saying. Shortly after finishing that, he found a job at Machon Lev, a yeshiva/technical college, and became part of a maintenance staff of religious Jewish guys who all love fixing things. Modi, if you come to Israel, maybe we can find you a kablan (contractor).
