A Good "Save"

This is not one of the popular Yiddish songs I grew up with, but is much less well-known, and I am very glad that it is remembered and recorded and will not be lost.

Peter has a lovely voice

However, I grew up speaking Yiddish. As a matter of fact I couldn't speak a word of English when I entered kindergarten. (In 2 weeks I was speaking fluent English, just like everyone else. I'm sorry to say (as much as I wanted so much to understand the words Peter was singing, I just could barely understand his Yidish words. I'm 81 years old and I suppose Yiddish is spoken in a lot of different dialects. Someday (If I live long enough, I hope to record some of the Yidish songs I used to know and sing.(If I still remember the words). Thanks for sharing anyway. B.W.

good singing

I enjoy talent esp in singing..this song seems nice enough..didnt understand a word of it..so it wont go to the top of the charts in the usa..just like my relatives who sing in another language ..their songs wont either...its ok to know another language..its great I think..but english in the usa is top of the pops..
