Janet, the point is that's how NOT to publicize the miracle. Instead of acting like a NYC whacko, and getting deserved wierd stares, we respectfully light the Menorah.

Technically it was a milk crate and not a soapbox janet! Merry Chanuka to all and to all 8 good nites!

Sense of Humor
Janet...where's your sense of humor? Have you ever been to Times Square where this was filmed? This young man on his soapbox was VERY mild in comparison to what goes on there. There's no commandment that we Jews shouldn't have a sense of humor and have fun with our holidays, especially one like Chanukah. Lighen up!!!

Ha! Ha! that was good...I'd also be a fan -- Happy Chanukah -

Uhhh, well. Honestly? The reception wasn't real positive: The eyes of the little girl says it all. I don't think this encounter will produce good will toward Jews by those who don't already know and love us. I think a nice musical rendition of Chanukah tunes might be more attractive than screaming at people from a soapbox.

If I were to pass by seeing you in NYC on that soapbox, I would be a fan of yours and give you an Amen!

You people really have Chuzpah! As we say in Israel, "Kol HaKavod!"
