Very funny skit.
I must say this was very creative of a thoroughly depressing and overly molested situation that should have ended in '67. Sadly the Jew has forgotten the Judean part and has allowed their entire history to become perverted to allow a "nationality" to be fabricated when such a nation had never existed previously: "Palestinian". It is such a shame that all Muslims, Jews and Christians do not actually read the Islamic texts and study Islamic history themselves. In doing so, an entirely different, and most-often censored reality would come shining through to another base motivation of this theo-political conflict. The Judean: Jew has an unbroken heritage associated to Judea: Israel: Zion: Holy Land/Promised land as base for the entire Western World and shown through multi-millenia archeological findings from Europe to Asia however nothing supports the Arab: Arabian; who sprang forth from Arabia over 450 years before the First Crusades "submitting" and occupying vasts swaths of land never their own. Unfortunately these lands run from Asia to, formerly, Spain (sadly today's Europe due to corrupt politics) inclusive of the region of "Palestine" then under Turkish rule. The Judean must find their Jewishness and throw out all of their Muslim and anti-Jew Communist/Socialist/Turd Worlders from all their lands West of the Jordan. If the Muslim can throw out a million Jews the Jew logically, and morally, must be able to do in kind. In closing there are no "Palestinians" and there is no "West Bank".

Well said and True--We Jews need to unite and attack the
arab muslim lies like they never have before. The racist ingrates are a fabrication of history and with islam, they try to kill and rewrite history for a people with no culture or history, except killing and conquest.

Humor can do alot to bring difficult situations to fore and reduce the central theme or point to one concentrated idea. This skit did that.. Arabs have always been jealous and hateful of the jewish people and will lay claim to anything given to the jewish people by God. It comes from the initial conflict between Isaac and Ishmael. This fact will never change! The arab will always be the jews angry brother even though God has Blessed them with even more land. Go figure!

This is funny?
Well, the hilarious artists should stay there, maybe 3 or 4 years in IDF service and see how much can be funny, then go back and make jokes about this subject. I do not think this would cause for broad laughs.

Hysterically Funny
I do not watch John Steward regularly, but this was so funny and so on the money. It is a delightful take off on a subject so painful....that Muslims claim everything that is holy to Jews as their own. It is a cruelty that is hard to tolerate. But, John made us/me smile. Thank goodness for humor...one of the greatest gifts of and to Jews.

Taken by itself, it's funny if slightly offensive to Israel. I generally pick and choose which Jon Stewart sketches I watch- they're all hilarious, but I don't watch the Israel-Palestinian ones because they're offensive. However, this one is well-balanced compared to the others.

We saw it in HALIFAX, I mean Challafax
Stewart is indeed as lefty but in this skit he does show up the Palestinian as the hysteria mongers they are and in this rare case Stewart did NOT use moral equivalence as a theme. Hopefully this is a turning point for him. As for Larry David he has always been an "equal opportunity destroyer" . He offends everyone and hopefully one day his stupidity will bite him in the rear.

LOL Totally hilarious. Watched this a few times for a good laugh. Some are offended by this, take to note, USA mainline Jews are up on comedians and low on the religious by-laws ok. They fit into media society, and they all have made us laugh over the years. Expect them to continue for many years ahead. Were laughing at the silliness, like kids fighting over toys. We need a laugh, it's getting old this issue. Christians and Muslims fighting over Jewish land, crusades, when will they get a grip. They have an identity crisis, and it's down displaying funny. Have they been duped or what? Well, that's what is so funny, the implication. The Daily Show gang, representing the differences, shows up to humor us, we needed a good laugh. Thanks Aish, for putting this on your website, I would of missed it otherwise.

funny skit... but more true than you think.
if Israel existed on an iceburg within the artic circle, islam would have to destroy it, because the very existence of Israel proves islam to be false. the fact that Israel exists right there in the midst of the muslim world, totally boils their potatoes. Psalm 83 addresses this by naming the lands that vow to destroy Israel. these lands are today's muslim land areas. GOD knew.

The story that preceeded thisone on the Daily Show (Re: The PALEST. U.N. bid) was NOT funny nor complimentary to Israel.

Jon Stewart known Israel basher
Do not be fooled. He has historically bashed Israel for it's treatment of the Palestineans.... for "allowing" them to live in the "hallway." He has regularly ridiculed the Jews as has Larry David in his "Curb' show. They have NO Jewish / Israel connection whatsoever.
Michael,
November 1, 2011 3:25 PM
I remember the "hallway" story.
I agree. I like the Daily Show and have learned much from John about political duplicity. However, he resembles to me The New York Times in that he's careless in handling the Middle East subject, but I get too much other useful info from him to stay away. The "hallway" story was during the last Gaza campaign. It reminded me not to watch him when the Israel issues get hot.

Relax ...
It's HUMOR!
Meradith,
November 2, 2011 3:53 PM
I have made jokes myself over this, because take something that is so serious in one part of the world, and make light over it, can put the issue in perspective, for us over here. I live by a town named Palestine and we joke about it all the time, that they are Palestinians. Palestine use to be a thriving town at one time, the center of this area. Now it is practically a ghost town. Oil was struck 6 miles away in 1901, and Palestine as the thriving place dried up, and a new town was birthed. We have history where we live. Towns named after places in Israel. Long Island, a town was called Jerusalem, maybe it still is, and the British came to take possession of it from the American Indians. The clip was funny, name a place Israel or Jerusalem, and those who do not believe in G-d will fight over it claiming it to be their land. Pick a place in Canada, hill country of no value, and let them all flock their. Quite clever! Those with connection to Israel should appreciate that, can send your enemies a packing to some other part of the world. Jon is a liberal, I'm not, so I don't make a habit of watching his show. However, when he does a good job for the sake of Israel, I can laugh with him. The two guys, one a Brit and the other a Muslim, fighting over land in Canada, was a hoot. We don't fight here, we laugh together. There is peace here as a Nation. Now that, can show what the historic Israel use to be at one time huh? When the tribes were not divided, to fight each other. Though humor it was meant to be, a little lesson can be taught from it, wow, what humor can do.

Jon Stewart Known Israel Basher
I agree 100%. His remark about the "hallway" was the first and last time I watched the show.
Ironic considering some Newscaster that bashed him said he supports Israel and nothing is further from the truth.

My issues with this
While this segment is very clever, I think it's unfortunate in the way Israel is depicted as an "occupier" (pushing into his box without provocation) and "war-initiator" (initiates physical altercation) whereas the so-called Palestinians are "harmless rock-throwers" (rocks thrown by anonymous individual do no harm).

Stewert's Moral Equivalence
John Stewert still gets it wrong with his drawing of moral equivalence between the Jewish claims and the Muslim claims.....nonetheless, this is a very funny clip.
