I spent three years sharing a flat in Breman, Germany with German, Palestinians, Saudi Arabians, Egyptians, and Sudanese college students. Laughter was what kept the peace and help us not take ourselves and each other so seriously. Furthermore, comedians do not "weaken us"......throughout our history it was comedians that helped us survive. Laughter is a gift from Hashem, and all of us need to take ourselves a little less seriously and realize that there is not that much difference between "us and Them".

These "comedians" have the effect of trivializing the very substantive and fundamental differences between us and them. This is very misleading because it suggests that both sides are just wrong-headed dogmatists without real substance to their beliefs. Torah is Emes, Eretz Yisrael is G-d's gift to the Jews as Hashem tells us in the Torah, etc. We need to educate Jews and non-Jews about the basics of Judaism and Eretz Yisrael. There is a place for laughter but not as part of an unwitting political purpose which weakens us as this group does.

Jews can laugh at their own faults and trials but this gag about the feud in the Middle East irritates me. If all it took was a beer commercial to get terrorism to stop, it would've happened over 50 years ago. BTW, didn't the US actually GIVE Arafat a Noble Prize several years ago? Look how things turned out after that!! Terrorism increased tenfold under that hypocrite's lying words to the world.
Frankly, I don't think Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq want beer or Western endorsement. They want Israel off the map and all of the Jews annihilated.

I don't think laughter can bring peace, or else the Jewish People would have found peace long ago. However, Laughter does lighten the load when there is no peace. It helps us not to loose sight of the very human factor in both ourselves and our enemies.

The joke is funny, but forgets that Islam forbids the drinking of alcohol - including, of course, beer. These comedians need to research their acts better!

I don't like this-- it blurs and simplifies a problem- as if "for 50 years we hate each other." See? We're basically the same and we can overcome! That's a distortion. There is a good and a bad guy, in reality. And we're the good guys. So this type of humor does not make peace and is pointless. I reminds me of the peace train and love train songs in the 70's. It sounds nice- buit its so shallow. By the way: I am offended by the term: "West Bank," when in fact the area is Judeah and Samaria. So that also perpetuates a distortion in this humor. (West Bank of what? Of Jordan? A historical and geographical misnomer that was intended to erase the areas from Jewish national conscience. Check it out).

The general idea of Jews and Arabs coming together to make this tour is trying to show that we CAN in fact live together and get along and that both sides really want to have peace. That's fine if you had 2 sides fighting, our case is that we are defending not fighting, so why are we showing the world that we too are wrong and that we too can change for the better?! We are not doing anything wrong, we are trying to live. The arabs in israel enjoy the most freedom from any other Arab country; this does not mean that they don'd deserve to be treated humanly or that Israel deserves recognition for their democratic ways with the Arabs, but it does show that we are not fighting the Arabs, on the contrary, live and enjoy freedom like we are trying to between the bombings and attacks. There is so much to write about the way we are wrongly presented in this whole story, but I definitely do not feel the need to show the world any sign of the idea that Jews/Israeli's require improvement in their dealings in the middle east and our land of Israel.

If we see how others see us, and can see the absurdity in ourselves as well as others, and this is mutual, we have a better understanding of other people, then maybe a monent of world peace...Add it up

We need laghter to keep going from day to day, as jews we've always used laughter (and kvetching) to survive no matter the odds. These comedians have the same idea as Mel Brooks... If you laugh at it then you take away some of it's power to strike fear and terror into us.

Jokes about current events are not funny if the comedian doesn't understand the issues involved.
Olmert is the democratically elected leader of a liberal state. Abu Mazen is a Holocaust denying, Soviet-trained, terrorist and gangster, despite the fact that the world wants to pretend otherwise.
The comedian speaks as if they both are leaders of polities caught in a tragic misunderstanding.
Not funny.
