(20)Anonymous, 30/1/2008 It could happen here (in the US) While it is inconceivable that anti-semitism or genocide could be committed against Jews in America, what if...
1. A government in Israel takes power and leads the Jewish Nation into war with its neighbors, attacks and expels or kills the Arabs in Judea & Samaria and/or simply refuses to be forced into a suicidal peace agreement?
2. What if such intransigence leads to major attacks against American targets?
3. What if Israel were accused of committing those attacks against America?
If the political and military situation were to spin out of control isn't possible that America's latent anti-semitism could be aroused?
What if simultaneous to such events America elects a radical left or right wing Pres. to lead the confrontation with Israel?
So pray to G-d and submit to His will, whenever you have the chance.
(19) PattiJenkins, 29/1/2008 never again I am not an optimist, We Must all be diligent because history tends to repeat itself.Let me set the stage for you.Enters the Lunitic shouting about body parts of a few of us. Oh yeagh thats already happened.I say to you my brothers and sisters we have got to protect ourselves or we will be next. ya-think you are exempt.Think again and again I say we only need yo look back afew decades when they threw our anses into a mass grave! My prayers are with you. May I offer up my 60 year old body up too. I live in Fresno Ca. very few of us here to protect but protecting the innocent is what we are best at. Hashem made us that way! May he give you Shalom but we can,t take some schmutzzie is that a word? looney tune biggut to start chopping us up and not having the good sense to rage on!
(18) Rosen, 27/1/2008 Solidarity It is indeed a definite miracle that the Jews are still around, due to not giving in to assimilation or total genocide. It is highly urged that we Jews neither give into intermarriage, assimilation, nor acknowledge anyone they are right and we are wrong of what we believe. Solidarity has always been the boldness that keeps the Jewish people going. Thus, always marry Jewish and don't let fundamentalists affiliated with Christianity, Islam, or otherwise try to convert you into their way of thinking! Remember to examine Deut. 13 on how to spot a false and misleading prophet. Unfortunately, the secular world doesn't seem to know the discrepancy/difference between the Messiah and G-d. Those who are moderate are the ones with room to learn.
(17) Flo, 24/1/2008 I MUST answer post # 13 When you speak of teaching tolerance, you forget that intolerance is being taught in the home, mostly and will be passed from generation to generation. The older ones will be unwilling to teach their young that is far better to love than to hate. And it is being taught by peers who learn it at home. The key is to NOT capitulate to the demands of those who hate you because this will be percieved as weakness, which will only provoke more hatred and persecution. Being loving AND strong... just as a good parent is to his child. Respond appropriately.
(16)Anonymous, 23/1/2008 Israel Today Are we really standing up to the dangers that face Israel and the Jewish nation today, be they from Iran, Gaza, Egypt or elsewhere or are we giving them strength to G-d forbid do us harm?
(15) Abe Lindner, 23/1/2008 Praise Ha'Shem It wasn't really that long ago that we were slaughtered like sheep. The best we can hope to do is stay united, teach the children, pray to Ha'Shem and "pass the ammunition."
(14) Linda Martin, 23/1/2008 fighting prejudice for all What is more appropriate than as Jews we fight prejudice against all peoples, not just ourselves, and align ourselves with all oppressed.
(13) Sternbuch, 23/1/2008 Wow!! Maybe we should try to stop being mutants and be thouroughly Jewish! Same as above.
(12)Anonymous, 22/1/2008 bad analogy between global warming and anti-semitism Unlike global warming (of which there is no real proof - despite Al Gore), anti-semitism has existed for centuries and continues to exist. How on earth did Aish get Ian McKellen to do this little video?!
(11) grant, 22/1/2008 Hitler is in Persia Amalek comes again. We forget too soon, the lessons of the past. Whenever it is best for us, that is when we least expect it.
The Holocaust is a distant past fact of anctient history to our youth...But an impending threat for us all.
But as for me and my house, we are blessed and doing what we can to illucidate Ha Eretz. Shalom un sei Gezundt!!!!
(10) Juanita, 22/1/2008 Anti-Semitism Anti-semitism lives and breathes in this world. We may not see it but it's as evident as global warming. If we chose to ignore it, we may as well be in Nazi Germany in the 30s. Never again means never again. I am an American, yes, but I am a Jew first.
(9) Jay Nisenfeld, 22/1/2008 fight anti-semitism by withholding dollars I still do not buy Shell oil products because Royal Dutch Shell(or whatever they are called today) supported the arabs during the war for independence. Hurting their purses is the only way to get corporate attention to stop anti-semitic practices. When stockholders learn that a particular practice of corporate management is affecting their dividends and stock value The will pay more attention to what is going on around them.
(8) Dr. Michael Zidonov, 22/1/2008 AntiSemitism Never Went Away ... What we need to do is forget all about Political Correctitude, and stop worrying about looking like everything we hate, and wipe out all those who oppres us, and have for centuries ... Ha'Shem told the Prophet, "kill every thing that lay in front of you, sparing none ..." and the Prophet disobeyed the command and took pity on the women, children, and the Elderly ... Ha'Shem told him that one day his disobedience would bite us all dead in the ass, and so it has ... It is long past time to strike back ...
(7) Doug Twilligear, 22/1/2008
Anti semitism is a weapon of the enemy. The chosen ones are closer to G-d and the world (that is under the rule of the evil one) hates us for that. We are blessed that the world hates us. He that is a friend to this world is an enemy unto G-d.If G-d be for us, who can be against us. Everywhere you look in his word the message is the same, we are blessed.
(6) issy rondel, 22/1/2008 attack the media, full frontal, no holds bard. the only way we will ever get enywhere in this hipokritical, biased world, is by doing what they do to as, be inventive with the truth, attack the media with stories, pay the reporters to project our imege
(5) SailorJ, 21/1/2008 Magneto is a Jew? In the X-Men Movie storyline, Magneto is a Holocaust survivor. So it is interesting to see that this clip was chosen to make a point that Jews are a minority like the "Mutants". When Jews say Never Again, they mean it. When Magneto, who is considered the "bad guy" shows this historical connection to the holocaust, you quickly can have change of heart.
It would be great to believe that everyone is like professor Xavior, and that everything is going to be alright. We know that more often than not, the sheep win.
Truth is, nothing is so cut and dry, but when you look at things deeper with that movie, you can be sure that there are only shades of grey. The bad guys are only bad because they need bad guys to have good guys.
(4) Al, 21/1/2008 Prevention is the best non-offensive defense against hate Anti-Semitism is a form of hate, just as are anti-goy feelings. All hate contains some element of fear, since it is only through fear that we learn to hate anyone or anything. The question then pivots toward the simpler ones of [a] how do we prevent fear our own and that of others toward us and [b] when we discover that someone is afraid what exactly is it that is making them afraid? If it is something outside of themselves we can teach them how to make themselves no longer be afraid. That is what psychoanalysis, and all of the cognitive psychological therapies are about. If it is within themselves, then that fear and hate is much more difficult to prevent and change. Let us begin with the work of T. W. Adorno et. al. on The Authoritarian Personality. Fear is learned, therefore it can be unlearned. Hate results from fear. Never the less it too can learn to be controlled and kept within safe human limits. Which is precisely what socialization and becoming civilized is all about. Where, when and by whom is fear being taught. There are some of the first, good, intervention points if we can learn how to reach them at those teachable moments when someone else's mind is more open to learning how to stop fearing what they hate, and more important to stop hating what they still fear. It is very much, although not entirely the matter of learning and teaching those attitudes, values and interests which help to be realistic as well as idealistic, and to learn how to become less irrational concerning what to fear in this life and world.
(3) ELehnsherr, 21/1/2008 Don't be a punching bag, stand up for yourselves! Before you despair, remember that anti-Semitism is so commonly taught because the teachers find it *profitable*. The Nazis and the Catholic Church before them distributed what they took from the Jews to their followers. The UN routinely passes anti-Israeli resolutions because its members incur no costs thereby but gain Arab support. That is why the repeated Israeli concessions and Jewish pleadings for peace have brought no peace – why should our enemies give up something that works so well for the sake of mere ethics and justice?
The solution, therefore, is to change the equation. Stop acting like a battered wife who blames herself for being attacked. When we repeatedly give up land for agreements and they break the agreements before the ink is dry, stop giving them more land. When your political party gives major air time to anti-Semitic riot-inciters like Sharpton, when leftist rallies on topics that have nothing to do with Israel turn yet again into anti-Israeli hate fests, don't just keep giving them your money and votes, letting them take you for granted -- yank your support and let them know why (bonus points for suing their tails off).
You can waste your life cringing in fear, waiting for others to become better people while you give them every incentive not to do so. Or you can stand tall and make them face the consequences of their actions. You can be a mensch, or you can be a punching bag.
Your choice.
(2) CAROL, 21/1/2008 YOU CANT FIGHT HATE IT IS A SAD FACT OF LIFE THAT PEOPLE WILL NEVER GET ALONG. IF WE WERE ALL ONE COLOR, ONE RELIGION AND ONE RACE WE WOULD FIND SOMETHING TO FIGHT ABOUT. JEWS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE SCAPEGOAT FOR CENTURIES AND THE IGNORANCE OF HUMANS AROUND THE PLANET IS NOT APT TO CHANGE. TRYING TO EDUCATE THE UNEDUCATED SOMETIMES WORKS FOR A SHORT PERIOD, BUT THE IGNORANCE TAUGHT IN HOMES WILL ALWAYS REAR ITS UGLY HEAD. AS JEWS WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH EVERY KIND OF ABUSE AND OVERCOME IT. WE MUST CONTINUE TO DO SO. MY EXTENDED FAMILY WERE ALL WIPED OUT IN EUROPE SAVE ONE COUSIN WHO SURVIVED. MY MOTHER WAS 5 WHEN A CLASSMATE SAID"YOU KILLED G-D" I WAS A YOUNGSTER WHEN SOMEONE SAID THAT WE ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN WIPED OUT AND MY OWN CHILDREN WERE MADE FUN OF ON THE SCHOOLBUS WHEN THE OTHERS SAW THE MENORAH IN THE WINDOW. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT HUMANS ARE NOT NICE. PERIOD. HOPEFULLY IF WE EVOLVE MORE THINGS MIGHT CHANGE, BUT THAT HAD BETTER COME BEFORE THE WORLD COMES TO AN END AND THAT I SERIOUSLY DOUBT. SHALOM TO ALL OF YOU.
(1)Anonymous, 20/1/2008 We just can't Anti semetism is everywhwere! we can be living in a little village 1000 miles away from everyone else, and we will still be hated. Hate is a big word, and you need a lot of courage to say that you "hate" someone, but an anti semite, or racist stand for it and can hate for nothing but rather, "just because". As much as we do good things for society or as much as we show the world who we are, there will be a group of those that will not even give a second look to even consider that "maybe they're nice" or "maybe they dont drink christian blood" etc. It's very hard to stop anti anything, but if we stand together, work hard and show our ahdoot, togetherness, maybe, just maybe we can show everyone else who we really are and we can make a difference! Am Yisrael Chai!!!
