more Israel won't be at war. Because for some reason, I am not sure why, that don't like to die all the time. Something to think about I guess.

I think that Josh got it right. Too frequently the so-called Jewish comic grounds his humor on the classic stereotypes of Jews (so of the classic Jack Benny idea of his concern with money). Josh (to use his word) pricks the shell of the anti-semitic sterotype & frankly in his way demeans those who dwell in that place. He makes them the butt of his humor, not Jews, the Holocaust or being Jewish. It is a careful nuance which is very effective.THe Holocaust is not a subject of humor, but in a world where it is becoming increasingly fashionable or perhaps where it is becoming increaslingly accectable to dismiss or deny the Holocaust, pointing out the insanity of that position with a well placed barb may be more effective than all of our soapbox comnplaining.Britain has a sad history of Jewish stereotyping & perhaps Josh's voice can stand in contrast to the on-going assaut Jews, Israel & Zionism takes in everyday British life from comments from London's mayor, the BBC, the seemimgly natural arabist position of the establishment, to the outright Holocaust denial & anti-semitism of a very vocal British Muslim community.

5/29/2007 10:08:00 AM Absolutely beautiful! Josh is a riot.
Yes, I am a Jew. That's the problem with women and marriage. We marry non-jewish guys and our name dissapears... poof! The B. stands for Blumenthal, but we stole it. When my great grandfather got to the U.S. they ask for his last name. Being a Russian Jew he felt that he would have a better life being a German Jew instead. You know... shtettle farmers vs. scientists. So he chose a new name. Great, now he was a Russian Jew in German Jew clothing. Now I am a Russian Jew in Dutch clothing... Arooo, ahem, I mean baaah. ;-D

5/28/2007 8:48:00 PM Re: Offensive
I thought he was making fun of people who DON'T take the holocaust seriously, and want to brush it off (like his friend who told him to find something positive). What I didn't understand was why people were laughing. I hope this will help them see the Jews' point of view a bit more.

The content of this comedians show is completely offensive. How can ANYBODY joke about something like the holocaust!! Millions of Jews lost their lives and dignity in this horrendous atrocity. Its good to laugh about oneself, but not to joke about suffering that is so intense. He has NO right to trivialize our grandparent's suffering. There is rampant holocaust denial in the world today and the enormity of the suffering is being forgotten. If we allow ourselves to make fun of the Holocaust, the rest of the world will surely follow suit. Aish...your site is arguable the best most informative, spiritually sensitive site on the net and I don't think that it is appropriate to run a video like this.
