This user-friendly software program is a Jewish calendar covering thousands of years, giving you dates of holidays, weekly Torah portions, candle-lighting times -- plus lots of other fun gadgets. It even lets you add birthdays and yahrzeits of loved ones, with a reminder for every year.

"Aish Luach" converts Hebrew dates to the civil calendar and vice versa. Plus it switches from English to Hebrew.

"Aish Luach" covers hundreds of cities throughout the world. Simply set the location for anywhere in the world and all times are automatically adjusted.

If you don't live in a major city, look up your location according to your zip code in the U.S. Gazetteer at: http:/www.census.gov/cgi-bin/gazetteer. (Or for those outside North America, go to http://maps.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll) This will give you the latitude and longitude for your city, which you can then enter into the calendar software.

Instructions: Click the link and save the file wherever you like. It is a simple stand-alone file and no installation is necessary. To run the program, simply click the icon. Shortcuts can be made and placed wherever you like.

Jewish Wedding Date Calculator

For anyone who can help: It would be wonderful if there was a Jewish wedding date calculator for interested parties, where a secular date (month/date/year) could be entered (even possibly, local hour/min. of ceremony location) and get results to see if there are any religious prohibitions for that date/time (and again, if provided for specific location). Please forward if you know of someone/an organization who can help. In advance of this, THANK YOU for those working toward this endeavor. Thank you again.

This downloaded so easily and the icon on my desktop allows me to look at the calendar at will. Thanks for this so much, I have been looking for a Jewish calendar... some are so beautiful as I had in the 90's at least for one year. I still keep it. The art work alone is worth holding on to it. Kept long enough... it rolls back around again. It's wonderful!

Brilliant Todah!

We are so glad we found this luach download. My daughter and I struggle to stay in touch with our judaism living where we do. Great program - until I switched to a Mac

Necessary for the 21st century and beyond

When my hard disk crashed after a lot of hard use, I was unable to check for candle lighting times for Dallas, Texas. Once replaced, I downloaded your calendar both to disk and to my new hard drive. Now, I'll be able to light candles and check yartzeit dates by using the Gregorian part of your calendar to check for the correct Hebrew date. Thanks.

For the time being; there's a freeware Luach for your Macintosh at apple.com. Type in the search field: Jewish Calendar and choose the first of the 5 hints, download the file. Jewish Calendar is a simple but nice application.
TIP: To launch Jewish Calendar easily; put this application in the Apple-Menu folder.

A wonderfull tool

This luach brings yiddishkeit to wherever you want to take it, and for those of us not working in a jewish environment it is more than a practical tool, it's a daily reminder of who we are.
